“What stands out to me is how he talks to me, my mom and my brothers about more than just football.  He really wants me to become a better man and have a great life outside of football. He’s really like a father figure.â€

Jones on Traylor (who has also been hard after Jones) --

“I enjoyed it when he came to my house.  He’s a great guy.  He’s an East Texas guy.  He’s coached high school football, so he understands recruiting.  He doesn’t just say what you want to hear.  He keeps it real.  You kind of want to stick with East Texas guys.â€

Just more reason to hope Texas doesn't lose Traylor to Texas State! Texas appears to be positioning itself for landing

a great recruiting class on NSD...losing Traylor could definitely hurt that.

"..... I recently checked in with a source close to Jones to see where things stand in regards to his recruitment. The source said, “Things are close right now, but that could change after he takes his Texas official visitâ€. The source also told me things at A&M have to make Texas feel better about their chances to sign Brandon. The reason the source feels that Texas will lead after his visit is that, “Brandon knows what he wants in a school, and being able to spend the weekend with all those other recruits will be big. Nothing against other programs but I believe Texas will be his front runner (after his official).....â€

"..... is not done as his final decision wont' come until the end of the week (when I say that I mean his actual decision, not the one on TV). As of right now, I feel fine with Delance and Texas."

Hummer also really likes our chances with Shackleford and Cuffee.

Is it me or is that confusing? Won't his final decision come at the end of the week on TV? Is making two announcements this week? Also, does that mean whoever he says is not the final.

I think he means that his recruitment will not be over and final even after he announces at the Game

I know they are kids, but why even announce on Saturday if you are not 100% sure. Where is the honesty and loyalty from these kids. Pick a school you want to be at and go help recruit a great class. Sheesh

Too many of them want to do it on TV and be cool. Get them all together in a setting like the UA or Army AA Game and its the thing to do, thanks to ESPN.

Athlete Tim Irvin reportedly flips to Auburn

The Tigers have not been on Irvin's radar long. He committed to Texas over Florida, Miami and West Virginia Jan. 3 during the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio before Auburn ever jumped on board. It was reported the Longhorns were threatening to pull Irvin's offer if he decided to take the visit to Auburn.
