2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

CB Deandre Baker of Miami is one of the uncommitted OVs this weekend.  His height listing varies from 5'10 to 6'0 (HUDL says 6'0)

With Davante Davis wanting to join Tim Irvin at Auburn, Baker becomes an important visit.

He is currently a "sift verbal commit" to Georgia

Word is that his dad loves him some Charlie Strong, and Vance Bedford has been recruiting Deandre since Louisville.

He also runs track -- was all-state in FLA track.  Ran a 21.65 in the 200, and a 48.07 in the 400.

"A natural man-coverage defender, Baker has great reactions to the ball in the air and is an adept tackler as well.  However, poor ball skills and less-than-elite hold Baker back from being the kind of player who could start from day one at the college level."

A "it's small world" story.

I once dated a woman who, as a kid, was a huge fan of the TV Show "Anne of Green Gables"

She used to have to periodically fly in and out of the US due to visa requirements

So one of her trips she made to Price Edward Island, where that show was set.  She did the whole tour and all that.

Zach Gentry does not have "Texas Commit" in his twitter profile (reported on 104.9). I assume it was there before but don't know for sure.

The threesome of Strong, Watson and Norvell are supposed to see him (Gentry) Thursday. 

But it is possible we will wait until he visits Michigan, the do the in-home.

We will know Friday if he is going to Michigan

I actually think Gentry is more Watson's kind of guy than the others.

Wilkerson says Florida may be after him too.  And that, for the first time, gentry did not return his texts

Yep.  There were rumors last month that Murray took a secret visit to OU.  And there had been people thinking that Murray might be a good fit there.

"I think there is a mutual interest level at this point.  I think we are both trying to gauge if I am a good fit for them at the QB spot given their current needs. I think because of my familiarity with the program the transition would be very smooth. I hope to be able to come into Austin for an official and meet Coach Strong and Coach Watson after they wrap up their current recruiting class."
