hehehe nope i was talking about Locksley several threads back..and then i had commented that i had a gut feeling about him ..then i also said I could be wrong..which..i still say  I could be wrong :)

It sounds good at the moment. We will see.  Looks like we will have room now where, in the past, it looked like we were in a numbers squeeze.

We visiting him today.

Makes for an interesting contrast in skills with Gentry.  Closer to Heard.

Watson may like Gentry best

While maj of fans probably go for Heard/Locksley

Told you guys about Locksley over a week ago. Don't know about silent commits but do know we've had at least two recruits try to commit without a visit. Charlie wouldn't let it happen.

Come on down, Soso.

I'll be honest - Locksley is a solid prospect, and fits a position of great need, but I'm not going to get that worked up over him.  He's not ready to play next season, and if he does beat out Heard I think that says more about Heard than it does Locksley - and that wouldn't be good for Texas.

But I'm no expert - so what the hell do I know.

Find it interesting in Burnt Ends that Warren said Texas said they are only taking one more RB.  How is that possible?  Especially with the heavy recruiting of all three of Soso, Brossette, and Warren.  Have to believe we take two of them if they want to come.

Read "Meet the Bagman" awhile back...good stuff.

In summary - if boosters pay cash, keep their mouths shut, and work behind the scenes in a small, close-knit circle it is very difficult to follow the money trail. The NCAA doesn't even want to catch them. You just gotta hope the players are also discreet about their gifts.

Don't go posting photos of cash on Instagram and Snapchat...like some idiots.

One possibility is because they are recruiting Soso as a WR/ATH

So, we have Houston and K.Johnson (who could also be a slot guy or even a safety if needed) and are looking to add one more of Warren/Brossette.

Locksley is a great pick up. He insures us that we won't have to turn to Swoopes should Heard go down. He can also play a number of positions if asked to. His arm strength needs work, yes, but his decision making is/will be a big improvement over Swoopes, IMO. He also helps us keep a shirt on Gentry, who likely needs a little time to develop.

I don't expect Locksley to beat out Heard. I expect him to provide depth at QB.

I'd still take Brossette over Warren. I don't care about rankings.

A bit more on the new OT offer Sam Awolope of Fort Bend Marshall

He is 6'5, 260 although there is much variance across the sites on this.  HUDL lists him at 279 lbs. for example.  There is a pic below so you can see for yourself.

BON says he "looks a lot like former Texas offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle, who was easy to mistake for a tight end, even last spring after he had been in the program for several years."   BON adds "Wickline continues to target high school offensive tackles as a result of the December decommitment of Houston Westfield's Toby Weathersby and the rumored grade issues of Huntsville offensive tackle commit Ronnie Major."

He is seen as a 3-star by most sites, however, he did make the last 247Sports Top 247.  They show him as #174 nationally, #17 OT and #22 player in the state.

Originally committed to Rice back in June, but then didnt have the necessary academics so committed to TCU on Dec 13.  Some of his other offers - Arizona State, BYU, Colorado State, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon State, Purdue, Wake Forest

He visits aggy this weekend (He has said in the past he likes them alot - but aggy has not offered yet)

Then Texas for the last weekend
