2026 PORTAL

Will never understand how someone could say to the world that theyre "a Longhorn through and through" in a goodbye post (or insert x school name)...and then step foot in Norman (or insert x rival school name).

🤷‍♂️

Agree. You're not much of a Longhorn if you choose to go to Norman.

There are other opportunities.

I don't know about anyone else in here but why does this remind me of NFL trading Central. You might as well rename NFL Collegiate Portal 2026 lol

I agree. But this is the age we're in now. I think a pretty low percentage of the players in college football are loyal to the team. Their "loyalty" lies elsewhere.

I don't like it, but it is what it is, as they say.

And... therefore, I don't believe the universities owe loyalty to the player. Last portal cycle I believe Texas demonstrated loyalty to players they recruited out of HS and took it in the shorts as a result. I believe the staff realizes now that the portal is more than essential to compete at the highest level.

The opposite approach to Ewers.

I understand that him leaving makes sense, but if he becomes a Sooner, then I won't be rooting for him, like I do for almost all ex Longhorns.
I hear a lot of YouTube talk about how loyal Ewers was to Texas... turning down lucrative transfer portal money to enter the NFL draft - because he wanted so badly to be a lifetime Longhorn. Didn't Ewers decommit from Texas to go to tOSU because he could get NIL money in Ohio or some such thing?

I'm ready to be slapped down on this point. Ewers is a class act... but history doesn't necessarily support this narrative.

PS - I know this doesn't jive with your point - which was about leaving Texas to go to OU. Didn't we have a receiver do this a few years ago? Thompson - who ended up at Mississippi State? We had a TE go to aggy last year (he after coming to us from BAMA). I think we ought to get used to this. Cheer for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back. The name on the back is here today and gone tomorrow.

IT hinting at a "moon shot" that landed. No names though.

I am told that previously, IT said getting Brown and Baugh would be a moon shot.

OTF seems to be leaning toward Baugh staying at Florida though.

Ewers went to OSU because of our dirt bag head coach, Tom Herman. Did not want to play for him.

When that changed, he came back.

Here are a few "names of interest" from Bobby Burton / OnTexas Football. The first two Texas is highly interested in. The rest are on campus this weekend:

Andrew Sprague - OT MeChicken -- Started at RT as a true freshman. If we land him, Baker will likely move to guard (for a season at least).

Jake Guarnera - OG MeChicken -- Also plays C.

Jayden Woods - DE Florida -- Will be a sophomore. Fantastic edge rusher.

Cam Coleman WR Auburn -- The big fish in the portal.

Ian Geffrard - DT Arkansas -- This one may already be a done deal. This kid is GINORMOUS!!! Closer to 400 lbs than 300.

Isaac Brown - RB Louisville -- Home run hitter type back. More in the mold of Wisner and Blue than the bruiser that Texas needs to run between the tackles.

Gianni Spetic - K -- Memphis -- 4 of 5 on kicks over 50 yards. This one also may already be done.

And a fun fact for your consumption: Muschamp personally contacted Derrick Williams and asked him to not enter the portal. He's not in yet....

Thats a good and fair point. There's no loyalty in sight anywhere in the sports world anymore except for the fans, so I definitely wont rip on a kid who chooses to chase a bag that might help him and his family.

Is what it is, but id never step foot in Norman...bc f*ck sooner 🤘
