2026 PORTAL

$$$$ is what lost my interest in the NFL

That and the egomaniacs who have to celebrate the most basic of plays. The "Me Me Me" attitude that permeates the whole league.

It's why I focused on college ball. They played with heart. But even that has eroded.

One would hope that the decision makers would realize the mistakes they're making, but hope is all it is at this point. So hard to put it back into the bottle.

If I had to guess, his NIL ask was higher than the staff put the value at. I think rb is one of the easier positions to get good/great portal value, and the staff feels they can upgrade at a discount. Definitely need at least two rb’s now
If so, I guess it's a sign of the times.

I totally understand that both the players and the schools need to do what's best for them, but as a fan this mostly sucks.

I guess it must suck much worse if your school isn't able to participate in the NIL arms race.

Gonna suck more for the players than the schools when they leave and can’t improve the financial aspect. Wisner is a good back, but he is far from elite. Lacks top end speed. He’ll likely go to a bad team and less money. His production doesn’t warrant big money

I have to think that it has to be a money issue for Wisner or he doesnt like the competition Sark is going after in the portal because this doesnt make a lot of sense.

OTOH, from his perspective, Wisner probably wants to be the featured back if he wants to play one more year in CFB. His draft grade probably wasnt what he wanted and needs to build up his resume

Another reason I am following CFB less and less.

I fear this will be the path for most who leave their current school/situation and go chase a bag, only to make less $ and play on a losing team. 🤷‍♂️ is what it is.

If their demand draws more money, their current school would pony up. This is a money issue on top of seeing a better back being brought in to tote the rock. I wish Wisner the best, he’s been a sooner and aggy killer but I think he overvalues himself. He will see soon enough

I fear you're correct. I don't put all the blame on the players doing this, most of it falls on the "agents". They (CFB) opened the door to let hundreds of agents in as apposed to the dozens out there before. The only way to combat it is to not go to the games, not watch the games on TV, not buy merch, but those will never happen. So, I fear that this is college football now.

Don't know why they don't just have one portal opening in May/June and that is it. Why did they think January was a good time to do it? All that does is force kids to make a snap decision.
