SignUp Now!I wonder the same thing about Alabama who's athletics department was 28 million in red last year, yet is obviously spending big money on NIL.
I guess those schools are running their athletics departments like the politicians run our federal government. Presumably in both cases the debt will cause big problems in the future.

What you say is true, but I suspect many of the BMD that are looking to help the football team would give the money to the school, instead of the NIL collectives, if they thought that would help the program more.
For example let's say Alabama starts losing players because they fall behind in the facilities arms race, or are unable to attract top coaches because they can't afford them. Most donors have a limited amount to give, so many of the dollars going into NIL are resulting in less donations to thevathletics department.
It is right in between the Royal Mile and and Johnnie Walker. Probably a 7-10 minute walk from both.Thanks. Is it on the Royal mile? We're staying right off there our 1st 3 nights then heading to St. Andrews (staying Dundee) then up to Inverness and Loch Ness. Should be fun.
And apparently the UGA and UT mods on On3 are going after each other about Calicut. Saw some screenshots on twitter. Just goes to show how little professionalism is involved when it comes to message boards.
I thought aggy was in the idiot category by themselves.
This can't be a serious post. That is just pure idiocy right there.
Basically passive aggressive posts saying the Uga mods knew about the allegations and pending charges a week ago and didn't post it. Then uga clapping back saying they didn't and how dare the Texas people say that. Followed by Texas mods posting text message screenshots. What were they saying?

You know adults acting like 10 year olds online. The usual.

Not to belabor this story but it is important to know:
Whew lawd this is some TMZ stuffI spent too much timing reading the threads about this early this morning.
Basically on July 9th, the date of the dangerous driving by Calicut and shots fired by Phillips, Eric Nahlin posted on IT something along the lines of "A target Texas "missed" on just did something that'll ruin his career". That is all Nahlin ever said about it. Other posters heard about what Calicut was accused of and started filling in the gaps on the message board.
UGA boards caught wind of this and started accusing Nahlin of Slander/Libel as there was no report out at that time. Their mods kinda down played anything at that point. A UGA poster even created an account on Inside Texas and started a thread asking Nahlin for updates on the accusations.
When the report did come out, Texas posters and IT staff started dunking on the UGA guy who had popped up on IT. Basically, hey idiot, this is what we were referring too, we weren't committing Libel.
The UGA boards were made at their own mods for not saying anything and those mods stood by their reporting that there wasn't anything to report until yesterday and that they didn't know anything about it soon. They also said Nahlin had called them and sounded excited about the news about Calicut.
That prompted Nahlin to share screen shots between himself and the UGA mods with the intent to prove two things. 1: The UGA mods knew about what was happening because Nahlin had been texting with them about it. 2. Nahlin was not excited (at least via text) about what happened - "I hope its nothing tragic".
UGA mods then said, well, I can't remember all my texts and phone calls but never backed down on accusing Nahlin and started talking about guys like Bobby Burton and Gerry Hamilton instead.
It was quite petty overall, I do think Nahlin needed to stick up for himself given what he was being accused of but it could have been handled with more class by all involved.
