Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Small injury update...

- 247 reported last night that DT Sydir Mitchell had a lower leg injury from being rolled up on, and he would need an MRI. TFB added that he was back at practice this morning, so it may be nothing in the end.

- TFB saying RB Savion Red left practice this morning and returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling.

- WR Xavier Worthy left practice early as well, but TFB believes this was a stomach bug issue he's been battling similar to what RB Jonathan Brooks had.
If we end up with the injury bug right before the season starts.... 😬

Chill out!  I swear that some people look for things to worry about.

Relax and enjoy.  Leave the worrying to the coaches.

There was a first time mother that lived next to me a few years ago.  I know that all mothers, or most, worry excessively about their first baby. Daddy teased my mama to distraction about it, but this one must have broken all the records.

When he started taking his first steps, and he was a big husky boy, even at 15 months, she put a helmet, arm pads, knee pads, all of the safety gear on him.

By the time she had him ready to go, he just sat there and screamed. Couldn’t believe it!

You guys hearing Ags in trouble with IRS over their NIL 12th Man+ Fund ?

Man, they had the best recruiting class in history 2 years ago, and now look at them.

Makes me all that more grateful for CDC, Sark and crew. We are going one direction (up) while they are going a completely different direction

I am not sure if much will be done to them, more of a clarification of the rules is my understanding. Trust me, I wish the IRS or NCAA had some reason to punish them.

There was some angst about how slowly Texas seemed to be jumping on NIL initiatives but I do appreciate that the admin took a measured approach and didn't get too far in front of their skis.

But Jimbo

Is there a more articulate coach out there?

The positive I took from this is the depth that Sark spoke about. He no longer holds back because he worries about injury.
Agree 100%. There's a quiet confidence about him. He's articulate, humble, thoughtful and sincere. He still gives "coach-speak" answers, but he comes across very genuine. I can see why parents like him and trust their sons to come to Texas.

I didn’t really follow him at SC and Wash but it is clear he soaked up a lot from Carroll, Saban, and his NFL experience. He also seems very interested in continuing to learn and grow as a coach. Refreshing for sure. If the on field performance continues to show, he could have a long and successful run at Texas.
