According to what I've read today, Card has an accuracy issue. His arm strength is about the same as it was last year. 

Ewers is more of a gunslinger but his accuracy and arm strength is far better than Card. Ewers will probably start, but we'll have to live with an INT or two with each game.

Card's accuracy beyond 20 yards was pretty ugly in limited action last year. There's no lack of strength, he overthrew almost all of them, hence not many int's. His short and mid game is on the money. Turnover's lose games.

There was apparently an issue a the scrimmage with QB body language where Sark became vocal. I'd guess pouting after int's. He apparently wasn't happy with either of them, and it seems like the scrimmage film room is going to be ugly.

I hope not. QBs need to get in a rhythm with the O. #1 QB starts until they lose #1 status. If you play not to get hurt, you will get hurt.

I think the only way Card keeps the #1 spot, if he even gets it, is to beat Bama. Mighty tall order.

Daddy Card used this same MO last year on Thompson. Paid him compliments then threw in the digs.

I didn't see a compliment on Ewers in there. Thompson had the same issue, big plays vs turnovers.

Many QBs over throw because they're giving the throw all they have, which in their mind they question as to being enough on that particular pass.

Good arm strength means you can thread the needle almost anywhere you want to. The focus in on the spot, not the distance.

Body language as in do you sulk after a bad throw.

TFB posted an article on this today and they're right and provided the quotes from Sark which seals the point. Ewers, Sark said, seems unfazed by an INT. He doesn't get too excited about a TD, either. Some can see this as a problem, Sark saw it as a plus. It remains to be seen if this carries on Into the season very far.

TFB said both QBs had their issues with turnovers. As I said there (on that site), come on man, its just the first day. 

Having played QB I can tell you that the hardest day was always that first scrimmage. You haven't learned to trust anything yet at that point. Both need to see Sark's tutiledge pay off.

As a former QB, I can tell you the first time with the big boys I threw an INT at an inopportune time. Messed me up. I had let the team down in my mind. The mistake I made was letting it affect my next pass and some passes after that.

Man, I don't think a 2-1 ratio of TDs/INTs per game is going to cut it.

I would think without a credible deep ball the defense has a smaller field to defend, which could make "ball control" more challenging.

I'm thinking back to the USC offense that Sark and Kiffin ran. Was it a ball control offense or quick strike? Or a little bit of both? Same with his Bama offenses.

Should've specified that's with a defense holding oops under 25 per game.

I think as a general rule, if a younger player is good enough to take the job from a veteran player, the team, almost by definition, improves at that position. Therefore, by this logic (if it is logical) I hope all the freshmen become starters. That was easy. Root for the freshmen to take over.
