What a shitty week.  My mom passes away on Thursday and I was really looking forward to this game so I could get lost for about 4 hours.  Well, that sucked.

This is no time to circle the wagons, but this is definitely time to challenge this team manhood. Stop resting on your laurels from the pre ious week because all that does is make you soft.  DL needs to dominate.  LBs need to tackle better, DBs need to stop playing soft coverage and body up the WRs, WRs need to catch TD passes if it hits them in hands and they need to get open, QB needs to be the leader on the field and hold others accountable and last but not least OL needs to stop playing flag football.

Let's be honest, we all know this teams ceiling is 9 wins this year and the floor for me is 7.  Some of us had higher expectations while some had lower.  I said in order for Texas to reach that ceiling they absolutely needed wins against ULL, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor (road game), TT, Rice, OKST (which this team can absolutely do) and needed 2 wins against Arky, TCU, and WVU.  Iowa State and OU I've always thought of as losses because OU is better right now and playing ISU at ISU will be a tough game for this team.  So, now Texas needs to take the TCU and WVU games to make 9 a realistic shot. Possible? Yes.  Likely? Not this team tonight.  Depends on how they react to this loss. TCU and WVU are not great teams, but Patterson will take this game film as a blueprint on how to attack UT on defense. What is this team made of.  Time will tell.

I never thought I would see a Texas team get rattled and lose their composure, but this one did. It also shows that except for BR and maybe Overshown we have a lot of 3 star talent, and that doesnt cut it in big time NCAA football anymore, probably the poorest tackling UT team in quite some time, DB's look like they are so afraid of getting beat deep that they give up everything in front of them, and do we even have a stud of a linebacker...we got our butts kicked top to bottom in every aspect of the game

Thought I'd wait a day to post. First of all I'm sorry for your loss texbound. Losing a mom is hard, I still think of mine often.

The 2 targeting non calls by Arkansas. Why have replay if you're not going to use it. Either that or quit telling me it's for safety when both times were ignored and the announcers and their rules guru said both were obvious targeting calls.

Thompson should start and I've felt this way since it was announced. I know some will say "but Arkansas was playing soft by then". Look at the 4 plays from the 1/2 ft line and tell me they were playing soft. They didn't want Texas to score, period.

Card over threw 2 wide open WRs that could have been TDs or at least 1st downs and get Texas out of their own end of the field. Whittington also dropped passes this week that last week he caught. 

Defense and offense were bad, very bad, it was a team effort.

Arkansas was playing their bowl game and it showed. Texas was caught reading press clippings.

Bottom line is we got whupped, an old fashion arse kicking. It will be interesting to see how the team responds next week.
