2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

Thanks for the eval. I would like Johnson, Grandy, and Elbert. I think Traore is LSU bound. I also keep hearing about a grad transfer, but haven't seen his name yet.
No problem. Haven’t heard anything on grad transfers either. Those typically shake out later in the spring.

If it was me I'd take Elbert, Grandy, and 1 of Traore/Johnson + grad transfer.  We need as many guys up front that can come in and play right away that ain't Freshmen.  Elbert and Grandy are some mean mofos that we need up front.

I was thinking the same thing

From what I've heard, the kid from AZ Western has the highest upside of the OL still left on our board.

I want to say they count towards the previous class if the school still had spots available. Not sure if that applies to JUCO guys too.
Also bundled in the proposal is the limitation of annual scholarships to 25. This is a move to do away with oversigning and to reduce the practice of grayshirting, a tactic by which schools delay the enrollment of a prospect until the following January so his signing would technically count as part of the next class.

The legislation limits to 25 the number of prospects whose aid is initially offered in the fall term of an academic year. Before, rules limited to 25 the number of prospects allowed to sign from Dec. 1 through May 31. This portion of the changes will affect newcomers in the 2018 signing class."

According to the bold print, early enrollees aid would kick in for the spring and therefore wouldn't count towards the 25 scholarship total. (I think)

Thanks for posting. Gives us some clarity.

MuthaHustler still out for Bobby Brown for the good guys lol I think that’s a lost cause but like her Crootin for the good guys!

The UCLA offer for Grandy is worrisome...

With that said Texas is still Cooking on the recruiting traill ;)

Will Jimbo offense focus more on running the ball?  If so does that change the mind of any recruit?

Jimbo is an offensive guy and has always run a pro style offense asking his qbs to make a bunch of reads. Will be interesting if he changes that style that now he's in TX where pretty much all hs run spread.
