Sonny Cumbie and Texas

FWIW, Nahin thinks Cumbie can be had

So shocking...

Fort Worth Star telegram reporting Cumbie is NOT interested.

Austin American Statement reporting Cumbie is interested.

Oh my.
At least now we know for sure that Cumbie is not interested unless he is interested.

Kind of like "insiders". They are either right or they are right until they are wrong  ;)

Jesus Shuttlesworth's Big Cigar agrees with this take.

Compared it to them jumping the gun on Murray -- "They just can’t leave well enough alone."
Don't discount the possibility that Texas leaked the story on purpose. It's not like that it never happens.

Wescott says Sterlin Gilbert is a Plan B if we can't get Cumbie - hell yes.

Chip/Wilkerson say that Seth Lewis is an option for a Co-OC role with Traylor if Strong strikes out on Cumbie/Gilbert/Lashlee.
Which option do you prefer?
Just curious

From a poster on Shaggy

Gilmer source says $#@!bie is a done deal

Traylor will get an Asst HC title.

Take it for what you will.

I think Cumbie is the safest choice - and the best for recruiting. I think Gilbert has the highest upside - but it's a definite risk.

I'd go Cumbie if I was Strong. He's the biggest name and would make the biggest 'splash'.

The filters on Shaggy are often funnier than the underlying words

Also --  WIckline, Watson and Robinson all gone by the weekend (per 247)

Monday can come soon enough. Who ever is pulling the strings better have some home run hires lined up already...
