Once they play football they count towards the 85 scholarship limit - regardless of whether or not they have a scholarship in another sport.  Keeps teams from hiding players on track/baseball/bowling scholarships.

But going the football/pro baseball route is possible and that may be what they were meeting with Strong about today. Let's hope the Murrays see that the place that offers Kyler the most opportunity is ATX.

Ricky Williams.....played RB as a Freshman and Pro baseball. 

and yes NWAHorn, that is exactly what I am saying...and......Murray couldn't play for Texas baseball if he signed with a ML team....the rule is 3 years  for D1 or turn 21 to enter MLB draft again.

I have so done. I recommend signing on to twitter and following Cecil and reading his tweets and re-tweets just today. 

The guy is on a roll. And gathering a herd. He's touting hard work and hard hittin' !!  Zero entitlement, earn everything. 

He's bringing it!!

agree ... soon as the euphoria over Murray settled by today... 

I'm now wondering if Gentry being pulled toward Michigan was communicated to the staff here, prompting a hurry-up unofficial visit that happened Wed. 

Dominoes, musical recruiting chairs. Trades. The kind of stuff GMs work up. 

Maybe the story will be that Gentry, with good character, let the staff know what was unfolding... 

Staff moved to get a solid read on Murray to let him know if he wanted it, come get it, we need you. Wiin-win. 

Then try and get a 4th (Kai Locksley?).

Of course, it could be that the staff has told Gentry that Murray has said he wants to go to Texas and Gentry said, "see ya!".

Getting Murray and Lodge here on campus wasn't a 'hurry-up' move.  I expect that's something they have been trying to schedule for a very long time - and considering how hush-hush it was something they've had arranged for a bit.

But I refuse to believe.
