After beating Wisconsin 3-1 in Milwaukee (basically a home game for the Badgers), the lady Horns lose to Minnesota 3-2 last night in Milwaukee. Texas won the first set, then promptly lost the next 2. The 4th set the Horns dominated and appeared to be ready to take it in the 5th. However instead of playing with the momentum from the 4th, they came out and fell apart in the 5th. Basically, the Horns got outplayed last night in each part of the game.

Coach Jerritt needs to pick a setter. For some reason he appears to have a lot of faith in the Baylor transfer Carlson instead of Swindell who lead him to a natty last year. The man knows way more about the game than I do but we finally get a tall setter (Swindell is 6-3) and he sits her for Carlson who is 5'11" which to me is confusing.

Tough loss last night for Texas Volleyball. And Tejas, you aren't the only one that has wondered where Swindle was in those two series.....

Elliott always tinkers with the line up and rotations early in the season. They will settle in by conference play. The team is very talented and WILL make a run. How far depends on how well they come together.

Now Texas has lost 3 home games in a row for the first time since 1994 and no Swindle today at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she portals out next season and I can't say I'd blame her.

Well the ladies are starting to warm up and playing much better. Took down fake ut yesterday. I see we are ranked 14, but I think will improve by tournament time.

Good game yesterday. This is false advertising. She wears long pants during games. Congrats though. :ROFLMAO:

They switched play styles. Elliot has always played a 6-1 and moved to a 5-2 (I don't know what any of this means). They went back to a 5-2 and have been much more successful.

Actually Elliot has ran a 5-1 (1 setter) vs a 6-2 (2 setters, usually backrow setters). They have went back to the 5-1 however I'm confused by his choice of who is setting. When Carlson goes up front, you now have a 5'11" front blocker vs if Swindle played, you'd have a 6'3" blocker. I know 4" doesn't seem much but when the setter is front row playing defense, she's opposite the opponents outside hitter (think Skinner) who is usually their best offensive weapon. Go back to when Kentucky beat Texas for the NC and you will see they took advantage of us having a shorter setter.

Swindle won a natty as a true freshman and I thought she played well last year. I'd love to know what she did wrong or why he switched setters.

Thanks, got the numbers mixed up. As I said, I don't understand what they mean. haha

I went to the game last night, Texas beat USC 3-0 to advance. Skinner is playing lights out and Wenaas had a good game too. The Horns will be the underdog from here on out. A 3peat is going to be hard for the ladies.

Head scratcher why Ella Swindle wasn't used more this season.... She was integral in the natties but just wasn't used much this year.
