*****GAME THREAD: CFP SemiFinal - Texas vs Ohio State*****

I read a post from a credible guy on another forum today. He said he speaks with one of the coaches almost weekly. He says the staff is very confident. Says they stayed with a vanilla plan against ASU and admitted they kinda overlooked them to an extent. Texas thinks they have a plan that will work against OSU.

Just thought that was interesting.

Actually, they are at the Gaylord Texan, which is in Grapevine. Nice play to stay and an easier route to Arlington.

Deja vu? Or you copied exactly what I posted 😁

And they played Akron, W. Mich. and Marshall. What's your point? You're cherry picking. OSU is peaking, but that doesn't mean Texas can't withstand. Texas has skins on the wall as well.

I picked those teams because they are 4 teams that are in the playoffs and still the #1 defense. We have problems scoring in the 2nd half.

Yeah, we played Georgia twice and lost against their backup QB

Opinions are like…

The team gets to play and we get to watch. What’s not too like. Let’s enjoy instead of worrying. Win or lose the sun comes out the next day. Spending time worrying diminishes the excitement.

After over a decade of sucking and now we are in the final four in our own backyard. If every Texas fan that lives in the DFW area is not at the game that is just sad. Zero excuses. Matter of fact if you live in Texas you should be there...

BTW, OTF mentioned that Bert Auburn has held onto the kicking job. Sounds like they opened up a competition between him and Will Stone and the practice report was that Auburn made every kick in practice.

We know he has the physical ability. Sounds like some issues with his form (left shoulder opening) and then likely some mental yips/overcompensation.

FGs will still be an iffy proposition this week, especially anything >40 yards.

Also I think one thing Texas can do to hurt the OSU offense is get their QB rattled. He has proven over and again that he does not respond well to pressure. He makes bad throws alot in those situations, throws earlier than he should.
If we pick him off a time or two, it will make even worse on him.
If we can netrualize him they would have to rely on their running game heavily. And I think we can deal with that.
Our defense won't be annihilated like Oregon's. The key to this game will be how our offense can handle tOSU's defense - that gives up 12.1 points per game. We can't be in 3rd and long. It won't work tomorrow. I see 2 keys:

1. Pre-snap penalties. We can't commit stupid pre-snap penalties and win. Going from 3rd & 3 to 3rd & 8 is a drive stopper tomorrow. If we try the pre-snap penalty trick we've seen so often this year, we lose.

2. Can we pass protect? If Quinn is uncomfortable we lose. Pressure is an ingraved invitation for bad Quinn to join the party. Bad Quinn is an automatic L. This OSU isn't Oklahoma St. With protection, Quinn is capable of carving up good defenses (BAMA X 2)

I'm 5 mins north of DFW and we have about 4 inches of snow already with 3-5 inches more expected tonight.

If you're going, please be safe.

We need Wisner and Blue to run for 5 billion frickin yards.
