*****GAME THREAD: CFP SemiFinal - Texas vs Ohio State*****

Arch and Baxter will improve our run game dramatically. Our offense will be much better next year especially in the red zone. When you have a mobile QB it puts a ton of pressure on a defense.
Excited to see how we operate with a true runner at QB. It also seems Sark is recruiting QBs with more running ability in KJ Lacey and Dia Bell.

I am curious to see if he embraces more QB run game. It can be such a cheat code to sprinkle in some QB run.

Lots of people complaining about Sark's play calling but ignoring all the other play calls in the game (and over the season) that are amazing.

Also, I've seen quite a few people explain the sweep play as a good call in the situation. Meaning, it is a play that teams often pull out to get on the edge against a defense who has subbed in a jumbo package. That said, we were pretty screwed from the jump with it as OSU had us out leveraged to the outside across the board. Play probably should have been killed via audible or timeout.
once they saw the LB/safety come up and also move with the motion - they should’ve audibled or called timeout. Pre-snap it could be seen that it wasn’t going to work once Ohio st moved with the motion and Caleb downs stayed down.

Also why not at least put the faster back in with Blue? I guess it would be obvious but Wisner is not out running anyone on Ohio St defense.

1 yard line. 4 attempts. We tried the middle once with Gibson. That sweep cost us 7 yards. Not good.

1. For all the hype that Ohio State got in the media, I think Texas gained some respect last night even though they lost.
2. I defended Quinn all year, but I am ready to move on to Arch. He just seems to bring another dimension to the offense.
3. The defense only gets better next year. Hill, Lefau and Collins will be more experienced. Derek Williams will be healthy and two five star freshman will get playing time.
4. The offensive line might take a step back, but it will be a small step.
5. The receiving corps is getting upgraded next year. Lockett, Terry III, Ffrench and McCutcheon
I thought Cam might come back since only started year. Besides that heard his # getting called by ref. Think we might miss Jake more than think. 4 yr starter are not ever day.

We won the Natty with a highly mobile QB. We have a highly mobile QB with better throwing accurracy than the one that won the Natty. I think we are in good shape and yes an upgrade at QB
I am curious to see how much running Sark dials up. It has not been his style and it's clear the Mannings will want Arch developed for the pro game.

I think it has to be utilized to maximize Arch's skill set. I'd look for Sark to dial up about 5 Arch runs a game with a lot of gives to the RBs on option plays with the risk of Arch running to keep them honest. Also, more bootlegs in the passing game that give Arch an easy run option.

The backup QB is almost always a fan favorite. Hopefully Arch can live up to all his hype and potential. He very well may end up being an upgrade, but IMHO it's way too early to say.

Even just the escapability to make and extend plays will be huge.

I wonder what game next year some of our fans will start saying "Sark needs to start Trey Owens!"?

I'm 5 mins north of DFW and we have about 4 inches of snow already with 3-5 inches more expected tonight.

If you're going, please be safe.

Roads ended up being fine. I left North Houston Thursday night at 6 pm and got to Fort Worth at 11pm. No issues... Lots of Texas fans were there. Anyone using weather as an excuse just did not want to go..

He maybe MVP of line. Bold statement but who handles ball more than QB & makes line calls

Remember when we recruited right past Greathouse, and then came back later to find it was too late?

Thats two TDs for him tonight.

No real football fan takes Nicole Auerbach seriously.

If it weren't for her last name, she wouldn't be on TV.
