*****GAME THREAD: CFP SemiFinal - Texas vs Ohio State*****

Our OL is very good, but not elite if they can't get a TD on 1st and goal from the 1. Also, QE3 rarely had a clean pocket all game, but he still managed a very good game.

Can you imagine a Tebow like goal line throw from Arch? It would’ve worked and well worth the try.

It was an evenly matched football game.

Both defenses are very elite.

Their offense did just a bit more than us. We had our chance to win. Their OLine did a lot better than ours and they moved the ball generally a lot better than us.

Yes, it was statistically virtually even. Take away the defensive bust for a TD at the end of the first half and we may very well win it in regulation. Also, our OL is just outmatched against elite defensive fronts like Georgia and Ohio State.

All the QE haters are happy this is his last game. But he carried the offense tonight. It wasnt pretty but that dude is clutch. He literally took Texas from Dirt to belonging in the big games.

He can’t control Bone head, bullshit play calling.

Reading on this board (Rotty) and media Texas didn’t belong on the field with tOSU. Was nice hearing the analysis change after the 3rd and Texas getting credit they deserved.

Good season, eventually Texas will get completely over the hump.

And fuck A&M.

Quinn did a fine job tonight, but his lack of a deep ball and lack of mobility made the OL look pedestrian (granted, OSU has the best front 7 in football). OSU did not respect the deep ball and played most the game with 8 in the box which made our running ability look bad. Also, Quinn's lack of mobility and pocket awareness put a ton of pressure on the OL. One of my colleagues, who is an OSU alum, texted during the game saying this is the easiest QB target he's seen all year long. Just a statue back there. I'm not putting the blame on Ewers, but I do think the outcome would've been different had Quinn moved more or they played Arch.

In regards to the sweep play that lost yardage, I'm fairly confident Quinn did a check at the line into that play. Sark would never say that, but I bet money that is what happened.

In postgame comments, Sark said since the 1st down power play didn't get any movement they thought they could get the edge for a TD if it was well blocked. It wasn't.

Also, if Cam can slow down Sawyer's rush for a couple of seconds on the 4th down play, QE3 would have had a much better chance to find someone in the end zone or avoid the sack/strip/TD.

And let's not forget the 15 yard taunting penalty from Helm on that drive. Didn't help at all.

We will miss this defense. Next year we will reload but this was a national championship level defense. It was better than last year’s. We will miss the safeties, Barron and interior DL.

Offensive line will be a step back. So will the defense but there are still many elite playmakers on defense.

So 2 years in a row now and the game ends in a similar fashion. I wonder if it’s time for Sark to contemplate allowing someone else to call the plays or at least have someone that has some serious input in those critical situations? A true OC with a bright mind.
