Field goals are nice, but they won't get us to the promised land.I thought our offense was better than what it showed

– Our mistakes killed us.
– Georgia held on every offensive play and I think the refs called it once.
– Concerned about Bond's injury. He got rolled pretty bad.
– I never noticed how much of a whiney butt Smart is on the sideline. At times, it was outright weird.
– Quinn Ewers played a helluva game. Some of his passes were damn near perfect.
– Big Cam keeps killing us with the penalties. Thats got to end. Thats a shame because he made some good blocks tonight.
– Despite all the mistakes, the penalties, the turnovers . . . we still almost won. And it's too bad we didn't.
– I thought Sark's game plan with the long balls stretching out the defense enabled our running game to have success. But then we stopped throwing them. It was a good idea that he should have stayed with. Also, some over the middle passes would be nice.
So you think Georgia moves to 2No. The Irish will take the 5 most likely, since they can't move into top 4.
I'm not sure how it all works, if the conference champs are automatically the top 4 sees but it is darn near criminal if Texas is not the highest seed after ND..Oregon-1, GA-2, ND-3, Texas-4. If OSU passes Texas, why play in the CCG. If the conference champs are automatically the top 4 seeds are the big 4 conf. champs, then Texas should be the 6 seed.So you think Georgia moves to 2
I predict:So you think Georgia moves to 2
Quinn's legacy for me will be that he is one of the best QBs to play at Texas, probably top 5ish or so but he has been too streaky. When he is on, he is down right amazing but he also goes into prolonged slumps that have lost us ball games.Sark is handcuffed by having a QB he can't trust to throw down field. Whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, Quinn is not elite and we've won in spite of him bc the team is littered with talent elsewhere on both sides of the ball.
He's not a QB that will win you a natty. I'll be cheering our boys like hell, but I've tempered my expectations on the ceiling of this team with Quinn behind center.
It'll be interesting to see what the committee does with ND.I predict:
1. Oregon*
2. Georgia
3. Boise
4. Ariz St*
5. ND
6. Texas.
*assuming current results hold: Oregon beats PSU and Clemson beats SMU
Agree, “handcuffed” statement from OP is obnoxious. QE put up 360 yards against a team that got him benched earlier in the season. The issue was he had 2 offensive weapons that decided to show up in Atlanta. One pick bounced off his receiver chest and the receiver decided to give up on the play like a diva.Quinn's legacy for me will be that he is one of the best QBs to play at Texas, probably top 5ish or so but he has been too streaky. I don't disagree that he'll be considered a Longhorn great... but I can also correctly say that he's held us back from being elite.Quinn's legacy for me will be that he is one of the best QBs to play at Texas, probably top 5ish or so but he has been too streaky. Im probably pissed off about this the most. Can you imagine if Guilbeau didn't celebrate and instead threw a block for Barron? We score a TD and win the game.
Simple things like that make the difference in winning championships and being very good. I'm surprised he didn't realize he should've blocked.
I don't disagree with that. Our few losses in the last 2 seasons have typically been multifactorial but he has certainly contributed. A QB like VY or Colt probably overcomes in those games and leads us to victory.I don't disagree that he'll be considered a Longhorn great... but I can also correctly say that he's held us back from being elite.
I think he did turn to start looking for blocks but the Georgia player was right behind him and snuck right past. Can you imagine if Guilbeau didn't celebrate and instead threw a block for Barron? We score a TD and win the game.

Issac Pearson look pretty good nowAgree, “handcuffed” statement from OP is obnoxious. QE put up 360 yards against a team that got him benched earlier in the season. Special teams and play calling is what lead to the L. Auburns got to go. And punter right behind him.

The other huge moment, the sack fumble by Collin Simmons, if that ball doesn't roll all the way out of bounds it is probably an easy scoop and score.
You can call it obnoxious all you want. The evidence is in front of your eyes.Agree, “handcuffed” statement from OP is obnoxious. Point is he played plenty good enough to beat Georgia. He did his part. Special teams will continue to get the horns beat. I’d worry about that more than QEYou can call it obnoxious all you want. The evidence is in front of your eyes.
No QB in recent memory has had a bigger fall from being a Heisman frontrunner and QB1 in the draft, to possibly going Day 3 at best. There's a reason for that.
Again, don't get me wrong. I'm here to cheer our boys no matter what and always will, but I can still point out the obvious and be ticked off that we didn't capitalize on Offense after that first half performance by our defense.
He won't ever rank in the elites to me unless he crushes it these playoffs (hope he does!) but because Texas hasn't had that many elite QBs, Ewers probably ranks at #5 given the team's accomplishments. He can move up but right now he's #5. He's a decent QB but generally is hurt, sloppy and just not a reliable QB. His potential is still off the charts but will he ever reach his potential? He looked sharper today most of the time. You can call it obnoxious all you want. The evidence is in front of your eyes.
