GAME DAY – ASU, CFP Rd. 2

He announced recently that he's coming back.

Given the year though, I think it would be wise to bring in another kicker and let them fight it out.
The one more year and his current year reminded me of a quote by Al McGuire, former basketball coach of Marquette who win a national championship there: "The only good thing about a freshman is they will be a sophomore next year."

Curiosity question. The ex UT players on ASU. I know a couple had a good play or two against us but did any of them really excel against us?? The WR got cocky and got himself a unsportsmanlike conduct and I didn't think he saw much time after that.

I've seen a couple of video clips discussing the non-targeting call. At least 2 of them said ASU had a targeting penalty in the first half. I was drinking, but I didn't remember anything. Were they confusing/conflating Omeire's personal foul? I reviewed the ESPN play-by-play and no targeting penalty was listed.

Only thing obviously discussed was targeting on ASU Vs Bond. Zero chance that wasn’t targeting either but wasn’t called.

No other targeting happened the 1st half.

I did get to rewatch parts of the game and it looked like Cole Hutson was in at RG and was responsible for some of the false starts, so I apologize for blaming Goosby for all of false starts.
Yes, he had two

Xavion Alford has a pretty good game there at his safety spot.

WR Omeire had a good play but then got penalized on the same play.

I thought Prince Dorbah at DE also had a good game. He didn't dominate or even be a problem, but in general he played well.

Yep, Auburn has the ability to be on of the best kickers in college ball next year - he's performed that way his 1st two seasons. So, if he can get back to that, he will be a great asset.

That said, it would be malpractice to not go into next season with a plan B.

I had to check, because I didn't notice they guy in the game, but Swanson had one tackle... maybe the UT coaches were right. It would be interesting to get insight on how those conversations are delivered.

I have to laugh at your last sentence Dr. And I mean that in a good way.
