GAME DAY – ASU, CFP Rd. 2

Seems a little personal. lol

Texas has a tendency to play to the level of their opponent, so whoever they play they’ll play up to them.
Lol after I seen the last Ohio State/ Oregon meeting lol I think OSU was praying for a rematch

I am in Nuevo Vallarta and listyyo the game in espanol was my only option.

For those that want to gloss over this performance simply because we won does not wash with me. We should be getting better not regressing. Book it, next week will tell the tale of just how good this team really is and this trend that has developed with an offense that only shows up for 2-3 quarters will prove to be the reason we do not make it to the finals. We will not be able to out talent Ohio State like we did ASU.

Hard to imagine anyone glossing over that win. Ohio State will be heavily favored, as they should be.

On the plus side Texas will be the underdog, so absolutely no rat poison in sight, while Ohio State will have everyone telling them how great they are.

Fun fact, we will be the higher seeded team, so officially be the home team.

Bert Auburn
- Redshirt freshmen - 80.8% (21/26)
- Sophomore - 82.9% (29/35)
- Junior - 68.2% (15/22)

What has caused such a drop off?

Biggest drop off has been on kicks 40+ yards. 6/13 (46%) this year. 18/25 (72%) on such kicks the two prior years. He is perfect this year, 9/9 on kicks <40.

It wasnt pretty but I will take an ugly win over a loss.

- Hopefully we left Auburn in Georgia. Its amazing we buy the best wr's etc but we cant buy a decent FG kicker. I'm done with the red pubic hair kid.

- I am not a Scateebo worshiper. I didnt think he was that great for the being the self proclaimed "best RB". Taafe and company didn't help matters with poor tackling. Even the TD pass, Taafe bit on the run fake which opened the middle of the field for his underthrown pass. Ill cut him Scateebo or whatever some slack, hes a rb not a qb. Still the QB and RB were drama queens the whole game. It was a fitting compliment to the WWE announcers for the game.

- The announcers were the worst part of the game. I told my wife during the game "The bright spot is if Texas loses we can cancel ESPN until next year"

- ASU was scrappy but as usual WE LET THEM BACK INTO GAME, like we do most teams.

- ASU couldnt even manage first downs without critical penalties called against us.

- I dont think the Big 10 refs know what a hold is. Penalties again were almost 2:1 in favor of ASU....again. So the media can cry all they want over the non targeting call.

- This team lacks killer instinct. It will bite them at some point. This should have been a blowout and looked like it was about to be but somehow someway we always find a way to let off the gas and let other teams back in it.

- Play this way next game and Ohio State will kick us into the dirt. Yea I believed at one time we beat Michigan which beat Ohio State transitive theory stuff too. Ohio State is playing on a different level with killer instinct now. But hey if we can play down to teams maybe we can play up as well. We have all the talent we need but whether its the coaches or the players we are not putting away lesser teams. ASU is an overachiever, Ohio State is peaking and we better come to play or it could be ugly.

All on the coaches, IMO.

At what point this past offseason would Texas have had any reason to look for a portal FG Kicker? Auburn entered this year an 80%+ kicker.

I do think this offseason that may be a consideration.

For this offseason, it has to be a consideration. We almost lost yesterday due to missing makeable FGs and lost the SEC Championship due to missing makeable FGs. I would have loved to have been in Georgia's spot in the playoff bracket instead of now facing the hottest team in the postseason.

I would like to know why Sark calls the plays less aggressively in the third quarter? Where's the "all gas" part of his initial theme?
It just seems like we get into a funk and the teams that play us basically say "we're not losing the game, Texas you gotta go win it". And then good play calling returns. We can get yards when we really really need them in desperation mode.

We will need an A/B+ game from our team to beat Ohio State and that's assuming Ohio State doesn't bring their A game. I'd say they utilize their talent on offense better than we do even though I feel like it's equal talent wise. We really need Bond to be healthy and out of his funk. Defense we have a slight edge.

Both teams are stacked and the two most well rounded talented teams in college football. If we can impose our will on the O-Line and run the ball (smash ball), then we can win.

I think winner of that game next Friday wins the national title.

I’m sick of the Taffe targeting no call costing Az St the game. No one is talking about the hit on Bond when Ewers was picked.

Certainly not a dominate performance, which I read in a post elsewhere.

1.6 rushing average??? Wow. The asu Dline was undersized and we managed only 1.6? We're going to get killed by osu.

Quinn with some respectable passing numbers.

I heard at one point in the game that skattebo had as many total yards as all of Texas offense.....
