2025 Recruiting Board/Thread

It's the #1 recruiting class. Are fans nit-picking the #1 recruiting class? I know there is always room for improvements, but it is the #1 recruiting class. Let's take the win and be grateful that it's not like it was just a few years ago.
Hook 'Em!
True. We do do opinions though. Are OL was solid but Fausi 5* Haygood 5*, Roger's high 4 or 5 Seems like missing one. I feel like trade Coleman brothers who 2 were 88 ,high 3 & their walk on brother. Good story but might not translate to starts but maybe depth. My 2 cents.
Solid but not stellar at OL and RB. Could say the same at QB.

Hard to argue on Defense with 5 stars at all levels of the defense. Another LB

After three years of recruiting you want to go there with your first sentence?
Flood has hit on more than he has missed. His initial recruiting cycle had to include 5 stars to jump start the process. In Sark I trust when it comes to QB recruiting. The incoming QB is a two time state champion. RB's are one of the easiest positions to fill except for blitz pick up.
I just can't believe that anyone has gone this direction after what we just witnessed this last 30 days.
@BWilk55 Weren't you one of those that told me and others to chill out in June? What has changed?

I think you are reading way too far into what I said. When I say solid but not stellar, I basically mean 4 star instead of 5 star.

Take OL for example. I think if we recruit players of this level year after year, develop them, we could have OLs of developed 3rd and 4th year players that can be good enough to win championships. There is nothing wrong with that.

But, I sure would prefer a 5 star OL class every year. Landing a guy like Kelvin Banks, Brandon Baker, Michael Fausisi, John Turntine every year keeps 1st round OL talent on the field consistently.

And yes, everyone needs to continue to stay chill on recruiting with this staff. They proved once again that they are going to get the guys the want and put together a top ranking class by the end of the cycle.

This #1 ranked class is good enough to lead to future championships but there are position groups we will need to hit on higher prospects in next years class.

Having the #1 ranked recruiting class is great but I don't think that's as important as it used to be. Still we want to be a top ranked recruiting class, but with the portal, things have changed. We've had top recruits that just didn't fit our team. We've picked up players in the portal that have filled in and have done really well. I think this will be the successful model for the near future.

Texas has done a good job of being successful in both recruiting and the portal. I think an over reliance on either approach is trying to win with one hand tied behind your back.

Avoiding the portal like Clemson has done isn't a formula for success. Going all in on portal players year over year like Ole Miss, Colorado have done also isn't it. I think you try your best to build a championship roster via recruiting and then as holes develop in the roster, plug those holes with the portal. Sark and Co have been pretty dang good at that so far.

Folks, we may not be done with our top ranked 2025 class. We now have an Xavier Worthy situation where the recruit signed, but has now been released from that school. The following per OTF and Gerry Hamilton.

Texas will host an official visitor this weekend after Johnny Nansen offered 2025 linebacker A.J. Tuitele (North Las Vegas, NV/Mojave) Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder made an official visit to USC last weekend, and is considered the favorite headed into the weekend visit to Texas.

Tuitele signed with Washington State December 4 over Arizona, but asked for his release following the departure of head coach Jake Dickert to Wake Forest.

He totaled 196 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, nine passes defended, five sacks, two caused fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 13 games for Mojave High.

Mojave High head coach Wes Pacheco told OnTexasFootball this on his star linebacker ...

"High motor everything! The real deal...Special once in a generation talent that has truly been under the radar... He will have an elite college career and play on Sundays in the NFL!"

USC is the main competition here. Tuitele's coach raved about his instincts. 196 tackles is unreal.

Start at the 0:43 mark for his highlights.
