A fun movie but this scene was classic. . . .

It's one thing to try and sound smart .. ..

it's entirely another to score the digits . ..

You like apples?

How 'bout dem apples????

Random post but many here have a fondest for applying the right movie scene to the right post .. . .huh Driftwood. . . .

Probably my all time favorite movie. My favorite scene is when Robin Williams says "Son of a bitch he stole my line" at the end of the movie. I've seen the movie at least 20 times and it gets better each time.

Haven't ever seen the whole thing...just bits and pieces.

WTF .. . .

Oh snap. . .realized it wasn't animated. . . .

Lucas .. .we like you son but I'm not sure you would know a good movie if it ran you over, paid your medical bills and bought you a new house. . .

Lotta big words in that movie. Might explain why Young Lukas has to stop and start the movie so often. Add the lack of attention and you have your answer.

By the way, my favorite scene is him explaining to the Military Recruiter why he would just shoot his friend.

Say what you will, but I'm no fan of Matt Damon. Sure, he was decent in the Oceans Trilogy and he was perfect for the Bourne films, but he turned into a political hack and thus turned me off from wanting to watch his movies.

if you're boycotting the movies of every actor who is a political hack, your career as a reviewer is in trouble.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Not boycotting...I just think he's turned his career into a political crusade. Most of his movies lately all have something to do with politics. I don't care to watch his movies that are pure entertainment, but there aren't many lately that he's done that meet that criteria.

In regards to this movie, I don't have a big reason why I haven't watched it...I just haven't. If I see it on tv, I'll set the DVR. But I won't avoid it like I would Casablanca or other garbage like that.

I kinda agree with Lukus here. Damon chose to make these type films. The Promised Land was a bit over the top. Can't remember the one before because I couldn't get 15 mins through it.

A lot of actors have ups and downs in their careers. I think his has been self-inflicted. He can't do a simple interview these days without going political. It's tiring.

I don't get actors that think we're supposed to look to them for political guidance. Hollywood is the last place I'd look for that.

OMG.

To each his own but Hunting came out in 1997 and there's nothing political about it.

And I'll take the bait. Casablanca is on the short list of greatest movies of all time.

Like I said, there wasn't a real big reason that I haven't watched it...I just haven't. I'll DVR if it's on tv.

That said, his career has gone down a political path instead of using his talents for entertainment.

Wait

Stop me if you have heard this before .. . .a Hollywood star falls out of touch with reality. . .

You mean someone like Damon or Stallone or Quienten who makes millions off violent movies where guns are a key prop . ..coming out against gun ownership???????

Or they advocate the re-distribution of everyone else wealth but theirs?   See Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon etc

Please tell me hypocrisy of that level does not exist

Next you are going to tell me Tim Allen's the Santa Clause isn't a documentary .. .

You guys are giving me a headache. Names like Paul Newman and Jane Fonda are just plain confusing. Everyone knows that there were no political issues in Hollywood before 2002.

Besides, Paul Newman is only known for his ranch dressing and Jane Fonda is like 125 years old so nobody remembers her. Let's keep this thread on point here: Matt Damon is wasting away.

Haven't paid attention to Damon and his politics. Do tend to not want to see tom cruise movies because he comes off as an ignorant moron frequently in the media... See Scientology rhetoric. However, with that said Cruise has made a lot of movies I enjoy. Just haven't heard much on Damon's views. I guess they lean away from some posters ideology? I enjoy U2 even though Bono is extremely political; I guess he champions humanitarian vs right/left wing issues. I guess all issues, social/humanitarian included, have a political component involved though.
