I believe that there should be an early signing period. Maybe July or August before a prospect's senior year? It might help take some of the pressure off these kids.http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/95442/pelini-eliminate-signing-dates-altogether

That's why I agree with this. There's no reason to rush your decision, wait until your senior year. The lack of upholding commitments today has made recruiting almost unbearable, and IMO a major problem culturally not just across college football. This year alone I've seen kids decommit literally days after they commit. The NCAA needs to do something because it's sending the wrong message to kids. I do believe there should be some type of opt out policy if there's a coaching change for instance.I only opened the page because of your comment .. . .if you ever see me posting something about art .. . ignore it. . .I don't have a clue. Kinda like Bo..
having said that,. . .I disagree . . .
Kid gets caught up in the moment, signs an LOI with Podunk State as a junior, blows up his Senior year and now he cannot sign with TEXAS, Bama or some other real school. . .
Of course Bo wants it, second some Bugeater (their original mascot) prospect sees life at a real campus. . . .he never looks back. . .

cheese, the way i read it is if a kid COULD commit on the spot, it would serve to police the schools from offering so early. Would a school really want a binding commitment from a freshan or a sophomore ? i think it might serve to slow the whole process down and schools might actually wait for the kid's SR year unless they were the VY type guys.I only opened the page because of your comment .. . .if you ever see me posting something about art .. . ignore it. . .I don't have a clue.
