and yet another weekend where UT hasn't scored. so sick of this ****.
Hey, I predicted that we'd go UNDEFEATED this week.  So far, spot-on.

Kansas State is now 3 games behind Baylor, in last place. They may have nothing to play for next weekend as only 8 teams make the Big 12 tournament. Texas has a great shot to win that series if not sweep. Kansas State is playing about as badly as you can right now, they've lost 8 of 9.

Hosting a regional is still not out of the question for Texas, still a good RPI after the slip recently. If Texas wins 3 of 4, I still think they will be in a mix for a regional. The regional will likely come down to Texas and Rice IMO. Rice losing a game to a bad UTSA team helped a little this weekend. We need UTSA to win the series somehow tomorrow. Rice also still has to play Houston in a midweek game. I will say we are 10-5 on the road, and have actually been a better road team. Only bad series on the road was against WV, and that was partly due to pitching rotation changes.

I know this won't be popular, but I'd almost rather see this team go on the road and not host.  They played better on the road, the parks are typically more forgiving, and hosting would probably draw a better 2 seed, whereas not hosting would be a lower 1 seed.  Probably splitting hairs on that last point, but I think this team gets sent on the road, they play with a chip on their shoulder.

I agree. Texas has already shown they can beat Houston or Rice. That will most likely be where Texas ends up if they don't host a regional.

joeywa, i agree. not sure why, buy i'd prefer a #2 at Rice (for example) than hosting in austin at this point. i thin the team might play looser and we'd still have plenty of fan support.

The more I think about it Disch Falk is really a disadvantage (that wasn't my initial thought). Our advantage is pitching. It's very unlikely that Texas or whoever Texas plays hits for power at Disch Falk. You are essentially eliminating our pitching advantage at Disch Falk. I would rather us play in a more batter friendly ballpark like Rice, where a pitching advantage actually does something for you. You saw this when Texas traveled to OU and Tech. I actually think we have some power bats in the lineup too, but Disch Falk completely kills them. Johnson, Barrera, and Payton are all capable of hitting homers at Rice.

With all that said, I'm not going to be disappointed if Texas ends up hosting.

ok. we're agreed. if it looks like UT will host, someone calls in a terrorist threat...something as horrible as a Lukus movie review, to relocate the series. we CAN'T LOSE.

Thank you for your support.

Texas RPI back to number 12. If a couple of the top 10 teams lose today there's a chance Texas moves back into the top 10 RPI. Regional is not out of the question if Texas steps up on the last weekend and Big 12 tournament.

Texas RPI will nosedive the final weekend series v K St. They are awful. 95 RPI.
