Realistic expectations for the upcoming football season

One thing we didn't see on Saturday which could have a big impact in the fall is special teams. As DKR used to say, special teams are 1/3 of the game. I think CS's teams will be like Snyder's KSU teams. Great defense, great special teams and an O that moves the chains. That formula will win conference championships.
I do hope they work on punt protection. Looked to me like the walk-ons could have blocked every one on Saturday. Not sure what was up with that.

Sorry guys, I have never been one to think UT would lose a game. It's not in my genes.

Can't do it. Never have. Never will.

Edit: btw, My 18 month old grandson can say "Hook 'em!" and put the horns up. I taught him a week and a half ago, but my daughter sent me video of it today. I didn't tell them at the time, although they would have loved it. He went to most of the games last year & will this year.

Hook 'em!

If Ash isn't healthy then I would go to war with Heard over Swoopes. Heard gives you the better chance to win this year over Swoopes, and quite frankly, has a much higher upside anyways. QB position is not enviable at the moment, but the solid DL and skill position weapons (if Gray plays) should keep ya'll in consideration for the conference championship. I think they can win 9-10 games if things fall the right way and Ash stays healthy.

AggieMike,  It is a long way to the first game.  You have no idea how Ash will heal.  You also have no idea how Swoops will develop over the summer, or how Wittek will turn out if he comes to Texas.  To suggest that an unproven freshman quarterback who will not set foot on campus until summer is the best alternative at quarterback for UT just reeks of someone who does not have the foggiest idea of what he speaks.  I know that you are supposedly one of those Aggies who is not here to be a troll, but get a clue, Man!  Heard may indeed be a "Wunderkind", but odds are that he could use a little seasoning.  I kind of side with Monarch on this.  I am sure that they are gonna be pleased with this, so I am gonna let the coaches decide this matter.  Something tells me that they have a better handle on this than you or me.  The only way that Heard ends up as the starting QB is if options A, B, and C fail miserably, which obviously very well could happen, and if it does, then we are in a world of hurt, and you will be able to say, "I wuz right!"  Let's just see how all of this plays out first.  And besides, don't you have the Aggie Conquest of the SEC to be concerned about?  'Cause honestly, I don't think that is going very well.
