*****GAME THREAD: Florida Gators @ No. 7 Texas Longhorns*****

IF you watch the replay, you'll see the jailbreak happens before Arch even gets set to pass. That is a problem.
So, you're telling me Robertson is our best option at C? That is a travesty. On at least one 4th and 1 the blitz came right up the middle. A competent C should've saw the blitz by the LB as it wasn't disguised. Instead he blocked down like he was probably taught, but sometimes you take what's in front you to give it a chance.

Why not move Sykorski to C and Seymore to LG or even Cole Huston at LG. Anything is better than Robertson.

I'd like to see Christian put in. He's nasty and big.

The reason Robertson starts is because he knows the system and all the calls.

green = wide open WR running free

red = where Arch thought he needed to throw.

So you're saying Arch can't read a defense or move through his progressions? If that is the case, then one of our two QB coaches, or both are not helping our qbs develop. Seems to be the same issue with our OL coach.

Why do we never line up under center on short yardage and let our 6'4 240 lb QB sneak? Seems other teams do it with success. If our IOL is so bad that we are unable to have it in our arsenal, then we are not only failing to develop them, but we are not able to judge talent at the level needed at Texas.

One other thing that stood out to me yesterday was Texas again lost the TO battle. In fact, the Texas D has forced 0 turnovers in three games in SEC play. Texas is -6 (including the punt block) in that category through 3 SEC games. You count the failed 4th down attempts and it's -8 or 9. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the O would've done anything with it, but still.

The defense has been stout, but I was expecting a more aggressive, ball hawking defense this year.

I don't feel like digging up the chart, but this week someone posted the performance data for VY, Colt, and Arch through the same number of starts. Arch was every bit as good as those two legends. And those two had much better OLs. Of course everyone needs to improve, but we have some serious liabilities on the OL which might be exacerbated by the OL coach.

Well stated.

Arch isn't perfect however he didn't let defensive players come through the line untouched SEVERAL times yesterday. I like Sark and not ready to see him fired, but be that said, yesterday was on him. He has to put the offense in better situations to succeed, especially on short yardage plays. Somewhere I read earlier in the season that our Oline was the weakest link and Florida proved that yesterday.

We're still not out of the playoff picture yet, especially with wins over Ohio State and Tennessee, but we cannot afford any more hiccups this season.

At this point I'm thinking along the lines of General Beringer from the movie "War Games" when he said: "I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it'd do any good!"

I agree with what you guys are saying and Sark is certainly to blame because he is the head coach. It's his decision to have those players in there.

To me, when it comes to protection, the coach calls the play and it's up to the QB and C to identify any changes they see. If I'm not mistaken, the helmet comms shut off around 15 seconds. Arch and Robertson are not identifying the blitzes and adjusting protection. It all starts with those two. Robertson needs to identify the A gap blitz first and foremost. That is a direct line to the QB and RB. On the 4th down play the LB came right through there and stopped the play. They need to get someone in there that can move their feet faster and can diagnose that crap. The QB can help by seeing it and calling a hot route or checking out of that particular play. However, both are continuing the same action.
