NEWS: Four-Star DL Tyler Alexander is down to Georgia, Texas, Colorado, and Notre Dame, he tells me for @Rivals

The 6’4 305 DL is ranked as a Top 5 DL in the state of Florida (per Rivals Industry)

Texas A&M hosted the state’s No. 1 prospect in the Rivals Industry’s No. 1 cornerback and No. 2 player overall in John Meredith. The Aggies have led a lot of his process, and I’d give them the slight advantage again over Texas. The Longhorns get Meredith back next weekend for an OV. Meredith feels comfortable around the Texas A&M staff, players and recruits and he loves the track record and plan the coaches have for him.

Really can't blame him. If my kid was going through recruitment, I'd be advising them to take all their trips and act enthusiastic at all of them. Make no promises but tell them all they are one of the tops schools. Then wait until a few days before signing day to announce.
I don't know what to say without sounding like a stick in the mud. No offense to you HH, but I am saddened that loyalty between schools and players no longer exists in the college game.

I don't like it either. I think it is destroying the game and now some players are going to the highest bidder, jumping from team to team every year. But, this is the way the system is now. You never know how long a player will play due to injury or if they will get to the next level. The schools are cashing in (or at least some of them) on the game, so I would want my kids to get whatever they can.

I understand what you're saying. He's just a kid having fun while there is fun to be had. I think the loyalty comes once he signs the LOI, or at least the expectations of it.

As long as his OV to Texas compares favorably, I think there's no problem here. He really wants to play in Sark's offense.

I agree. Only thing I would change is I'd silently commit to the school I wanted during the June OV and commit before the end of June. Schools these days will pull offers once they fill up. With NIL now, that all gets locked in during the summer.

And that was one of the questions I had for coaches recruiting my kid (not football). Was there a date they had to commit by to guarantee a spot on the team, was there a max number of recruits they were looking for and we needed to commit before they hit that number and lastly, if they commit are they guaranteed a spot or if you find higher rated recruit do they lose their spot?
