2026 PORTAL

Doubt it, sounds like a personal thing like it being a far flight for his family to see him in Texas, probably easier on the west coast

I agree it's unlikely to be about money, since he is well regarded and we are thin at linebacker.

No idea about his reasoning, but best of luck to him moving forward.

Per OTF this was Texas' decision. I'd like to know which coach needs to be bitch slapped because of this decision.
It seemed to me that he was not on the field as much as the season went along. Seemed like Ty Smith took some of his minutes and performed really well. Also seemed like he was not as much of an impact player as he was last year.

so what eating GIF by Bounce

Now I'm surprised about that one

Per CJ Vogel at OTF:

"From what I have gathered it sounds like the staff had a plan at linebacker and Lefau was not thrilled with what was set forth."

Pre-Portal LB depth for UT's bowl game, as of now

– LB TyAnthony Smith ... 364 snaps, 40 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

– LB Brad Spence ... 205 snaps, 48 snaps at linebacker in 2025

– LB Bo Barnes ... 24 snaps in 2025

– LB Jonathan Cunningham ... 16 snaps in 2025

– LB Marshall Landwehr ... 20 snaps in 2025

I was at the a&m game and saw Cunningham (37) warming up with the DBs not the LBs, if I'm not mistaken. If Lefau leaves, Cunningham moves back to LB???

Either this staff has a solid game plan or they've lost a handle on this team. I guess we will find out January 2.
Keep in mind Michigan will lose just as many if not more. I don't expect a top end game here.

I'm not thinking about the game, I'm thinking about next year. I gotta think they're going all in on next year with Arch.

I believe Moore will enter the NFL draft.

But yes, hopefully we have a lot of portal money but we are also very loaded at WR with people that have a higher ceiling than Moore.

Maybe the plan was to play Brad Spence ahead of him?

I don't think Moore is too much of a surprise. Muhammed won't be either.

The biggest fish we want to keep is Goosby! If he goes pro, that would hurt like a kick in the marbles. The people projecting him as a top 15 draft pick aren't helping.
