I'm not sure how many players are coming back, but my understanding is the new 105 limit kick in for 2026.

With our recruiting class at 23,
You would think we will have plenty of space for portal players.
The portal opens on January 2 and closes on January 16. I'm guessing we will have a descent size portal class.
Which is a good thing.we may have to see what happens in January

We will see what kind OL coaches with developing all 3 * he got last yrs. Not including Turntine, Brooks,& Baker couple yrs ago. Maybe we got Cosmi in those 3*.

ESPN has our class at #2 overall with 247 having us at #8. So which is it? I'll assume it's safe to say worst case scenario, we're somewhere between those 2 numbers.

In the article I read it looked like ESPN was still counting the two flips as commits.

Fort Bend Travis defensive back Josiah Vilmael will announce his intentions on Friday, per OTF.

6-0.5, 175-pounder with 10.6 100 meter speed.

Baylor, Arizona State, Kansas State, or Arizona are the competition. Gerry says Texas has not met Vilmael's requested NIL number.

No idea if any of the other schools came closer to that number than Texas.

It will be interesting to find out Friday. Does he want to play in the middle of the Big 12 for more money? Or play in the upper tier of the SEC for a little less?

I really like our DB class as is. I'd love to have this guy but won't be bothered if we don't get him.

I know Texas is more than likely doing this is well, but how is this not a clear violation of tampering? Someone has to hold these teams, agents, boosters accountable for tampering.

This happened allot last year, and it wasn't any well kept secret. If the NCAA blatantly ignores the tampering rule one year, it's unreasonable to expect that the rule will be followed in future years.

In the last 2 years we had conference championship games and playoffs to contend with, so we didn't have time to play offense with "tempering". For better or worse, this year we have time and an understanding that "tampering" is tolerated, so here we go.

Bingo on the tampering. The NCAA is a joke and isn't (and cant) enforcing anything. We're officially in free agency in college football with no restrictions.

ESPN also weighs their top 300 very heavily, even with the loss of the two DT's they were high on the Texas class

Precedent has been set last year. No one is going to lift a finger to stop tampering.
