Sorry, I've been out the last couple of weeks and haven't been able to post. OK, here we go into the CCGs. Here are my random musings.
ACC
It's Duke and Virginia. You got to like Virginia as they went on the road and beat Duke handily (34-17). I still think Miami is the best team in the ACC and even though they are ranked higher than either of these 2 teams only the conference champ should get in but Miami could squeak in by virtue of their #12 ranking. If BYU losses more than likely, Miami moves to #11.
Big X
The 2 best teams in the Big X will square off in the CCG. Indiana will try to prove they're the new big dog in this conference. They've played the tougher schedule so this should be a good game.
With that said, both teams will make the playoffs. It will just be a matter of seeding. Winner is #1 seed and the loser, if it's a close game could be 4 or 5. Oregon will be in the playoffs and with Michigan's loss to OSU the Big X should only get 3 teams. This makes it very interesting.
Big 12
This one has been fairly predictable for a while. It's BYU and Tech. Winner is in. I believe only 1 team from the Big 12 should make the playoffs but I can see where if BYU wins, Tech still makes the playoffs. It's possible but I don't think that is right.
SEC
With only 3 Big X teams making it into the playoffs, this gives a conference an extra spot. Will it be Miami? Tech? or will a SEC team get the bid. Here's what I think I know.
Bama and Georgia are in the CCG. Winner is in. If Bama loses are they in or out? They would be in the same boat as Texas, a 1st week loss to Florida State. So who's got the better resume.

Hmmm.
Ole Miss and the aggies are in. It looks like ouSux will be in too but they really didn't look good against LSU. Do they pass the eyeball test? Apparently the polls think so.
That gives the SEC 4 teams plus Bama if they beat Georgia. Could Vandy or Texas sneak into the playoffs if Bama loses? In my opinion Texas would deserve the spot.
The others
Notre Dame undeservedly gets a spot in the Playoffs. Why? Because they are ranked so high. Why? I don't have a clue.
So who is the sacrificial lamb from the 5th conference champ? Will it be JMU or the winner of the American Conference CCG? It'll be the winner of the North Texas and Tulane game. They will easily jump JMU when all is said and done.
So let's review.
ACC: Winner of Duke and Virginia
Big X: Indiana, Ohio State and Oregon
Big 12: Winner of BYU and Texas Tech
SEC: Winner of Georgia and Alabama, Ole Miss, aggie, ouSux
Notre Dame and the winner of North Texas and Tulane.
That's 11 teams. So who gets that last spot?
1) If Bama beats Georgia, they are in.
2) If BYU wins and Bama losses then both BYU and Tech are in
3) If Bama losses and Tech wins, Miami or Texas will get the final spot.
