Based on Gerry Hamilton's thoughts today, it looks like
Faususi (Aug 21) to ou.
Nick Brooks (Aug 23 though could happen sooner) to Texas
Jonah Williams (TBA) uncertain but leans Texas due to Schollshnagle (sp?) move to UT. LSU is in it but they have 4 DBs committed with two being safeties. Texas has none.
Aiden Anding – LSU already has four DBs so this one would sting if we lost him to the tigers.
Jamie Ffrench – All signs point to Texas. Just a really solid relationship with UT staff. Miami is trying, but it looks like Texas' efforts will pay off.

Texas powerlifting state qualifier as a junior with individual lift records of 490 bench, 605 deadlift, and 700 squat.
Texas 3A regional qualifier in the discus as a junior with a Spring 2024 season-best throw of 140-10.
As a freshman, posted season-best throws of 43-5 in the shot put and 147-4 in the discus in Spring 2022.


Discus throw of 147 ft is pretty good for a freshman.

He was one that they were looking at back at the end of Spring camp.

I don't disagree with your recruiting concern.... but here's a prediction for you. Our secondary this year may be the best we've seen since 2005. I actually think it will be the surprise strength of our defense. The better pass rush will make them look even better.

I believe it is talented and deep. Guilbeau looks so good that Barron looks to be moving to corner... or at least rotating back and forth. Holmes (fastest DB on the team) reportedly looks fantastic and has locked down the starting CB job over the portal additions and a permanent Barron move. Malik looks like a future 1st round draft pick. McDonald looks like a future star at safety - where we go four deep with quality.

Maybe I'm drinking too much Bobby Burton Burnt Orange Kool-Aid? If there are problems, look for a coaching shake-up. But I don't see that materializing. We're good in the secondary.

The game is set up for scoring. If you have a decent to good QB, you will get your points.
If we truly have an improved pass rush, that will help a lot.

I think the differences in our pass rush vs last year are going to be as stark as night and day.

People in the program are surprised at this situation. Simmons was more prepared for college ball than ffirst thought. The pick up of Moore was huge. Vasek, Burt, Sorrell. We're stacked with impact ends now.
