2025 Recruiting Board/Thread

I don't know. Anyone who picks a school because of $$$ may not be someone we want. Where is there loyalty going to be? What happens if they bust or next year someone gets more money than them? I see a potential for headaches with these kids. I like Sark's policy. Just win and keep putting players in the NFL and the recruiting will take care of itself.

I know Sark has said he doesn't want people who's first priority is NIL, but it's a difficult balance, if multiple schools tick all a kids boxes and one has a substantially larger NIL, it's easy to see how that could sway him.

We need to be competitive in NIL to participate in the arms race. I have zero information, but it seems like our NIL is slower to react, and maybe less aggressive then a few other schools, which is a bit frustrating.

It seems too early to panic on recruiting, given how well the staff has recruited since they got here ,now they not only have hype and potential to sell, but also results.

If we are really the Jones's then we should be able to adjust to the rapidly changing compensation model, and mostly come out on top.

I think we are good in NIL....I would rather have guys that want to be here and not totally go massively overboard with a few players and possibly disrupt the culture. Also it is still JUNE, remember what happened with last year's class, and there are plenty of quality players out there that can be brought in and developed to be a part of a championship roster....Sweat (your reigning OUTLAND TROPHY winner) was a 3-star DE recruit according to 247. I think we'll be just fine.

Between Orogbo and Lance Jackson, very strong DE recruiting class.

Our DE position seems to be in an upswing while DT is maybe taking a step back. I'd rather have stud DEs than DTs. Much easier to make big impacts in a game from the edge position.
I agree pass rush is important, and probably harder to find, but you got to stop the run first.

Biggest disappoint with recruiting this year is we are coming off Big 12 Championship & appearance in college football playoff when only had 4 teams.

I’m not concern at all with DT recruiting. Get massive kids with a high motor and willingness to work and you are good in the middle. We like our guys to occupy blocks and keep LB’s free. I’m sure that doesn’t appeal to some kids.

Brendan brown is likely to filp to lsu
Not trying to sound like aggie here but he never really seemed committed to Texas anyways and that is fine, he's a kid. I'm not too concerned about recruiting in July. Once we get to November things will start to heat up and I'm sure Texas will flip somebody from somewhere else.
