It was frustrating to see our DBs in good position while Penix repeatedly dropped a long dime. Wouldn't you know we get him for the game he's out of his mind?

We had some pressure on him, not enough.
Even with that, he had the game of his life.
Same thing happened to us against OU.
Gabriel was inconsistent all season, except against us.
Penix had several calls that went his way (the one where his whole body was over the line, but not the ball), he got in a groove, and it was game out.
I am hoping we get someone in the portal that can pressure the passer.
That is probably our biggest weakness in the team now.

I was thinking the same thing when Penix was off just enough to drop their 3rd down conversion percentage against Michigan.

The body can go beyond the LOS, as long as the ball doesn't, so that was the correct call.

As far as your hoping for a portal guy that can pressure the passer, Trey Moore says hi.

Hard to understand how he can throw the ball behind his body. Regardless it went his way.
Trey Moore has some skins on the wall, but level of competition was a lot lower. He is not very big. Not gonna collapse a lot of pockets. He will help, but we need a brute coming up the middle.

From the replay it appeared the ball and at least eneugh of his body was behind the LOS to make the pass legally. It was certainly close, but if you are going to pick on the refs at least pick on something they actually missed.

Obviously the more effective pass rushers you have the better. Time will tell how well Moore's game translates to the SEC,but Sark clearly made him a priority.

A QB can have nothing but a heel behind the line and it is a legal pass. That is the metric for that penalty not the ball.

That clears that play up. The announcers made a big deal of the ball being behind the line. The replay, in my opinion, did not show the ball being behind the line. It would have had to cross his body with the throw.
But if it was only a foot begins the line, I could see that.
