But Georgia beat the FSU freshman team by 60. And that freshman team was undefeated. That has to count for something. All Bama did in the CFP was take the national champs to overtime.

Hell of a season !
After watching that game last night, I feel like we could have beat Michigan. Penix had the game of his life against us.
Oh well, the future is bright !
HOOK EM !!!!
Totally agree. We would have been a much better matchup against Michigan just as Washington was the worst matchup for us. Even then, the Horns almost pulled off a win while Penix was having a career game.

While some of the players will be different, we'll get a shot at Michigan early next season so that should be fun.

Im gonna make a prediction that may not be popular but here goes....Quinn is gonna declare

its just a hunch but compared to what is currently in the NFL Im not saying QE starts but Aaron Rodgers is going to be 40, Kirk Cousins is just a hard luck QB, QE is better than. a washed up expensive Russell Wilson, better than Geno Smith and finally if Brock Purdy can start in the NFL and be a star so can QE...I dont follow the NFL anymore but its time to get rid of guys that will never win a championship (Dak Prescott). QE won't go in the first round but he will go in the 2nd or 3rd and I think his window is NOW, he has had to have had some draft experts look into where he could land, if he and his family havent I would be totally shocked, plus Quinn's past history going all the way back to leaving high school early leads me to believe he goes

I know all the so called experts said earlier said he was coming back, BUT that was before XW, AD, and Jatavion declared

I would agree with you if not for NIL and Quinn leaving HS a year early. If he is 2nd - 3rd round this year and could be 1st next year with experience, he would be making a stupid decision based on a financial perspective. He could make significantly more money if he waits. Hell, he will probably pick up even more endorsements if he plays another year, and he could make as much or more as a 3rd rounder.

Yes he should go this year

I think our base grouping is 11, but he could also utilize a 21 grouping. I could easily see a 3 WR set on most plays, in fact, this is the true base of Sark's RPO, layered offense. This is exactly what he ran at Bama and was pretty much what was run here with Mitchell, Worthy and JWhitt. We saw some 12 personnel, but I would bet the predominant set ran was 11. Maybe I'm wrong.

UPDATE:
I was wrong, sort of. Sark does use a lot of 12 personnel (38-40%), but uses 11 more (54%). So, you're previous statement about having two good TEs stands. Hopefully Davis breaks through.
Correct. I will say that Sark is very multiple. If his personnel doesn't match up, he will adjust. I could see a lot more 10 or 21 personnel groups. Sark has all spring and summer to come up with fun concepts and plays for those spots.

Yes he should go this year
The only reason I disagree is I don't think QE would be in the top 6 QBs drafted. Williams, Maye, Daniels, McCarthy, Penix, and Nix (I predict in that order) could all go before him. He may not hear his name until day 3 of the draft.

Also, he'd be the youngest QB in the draft by a wide margin. He has room to grow and develop. I think he trusts Sark's ability to develop him and let him compete with Sanders and Beck to be QB1 next year.

Lastly, if things fall apart next year, he has 2 years of eligibility left to try to transfer and restore value.

I don't think there has ever been a point where Ewers expected any of them to come back, nor will his decision be based on that.

I know the top draft picks get the best money, but they also go to the teams that historically suck the most. I wonder if any of them consider an advantage being the 5th or 6th best QB on the board to potentially get drafted by a team that won't ruin their careers.

the Top 4 projected are going in the first four picks Williams> Maye>JT Daniels> Penix...its a QB driven league and even as a Texas homer you cant tell me with a straight face that Colt McCoy or Sam Ehlinger are better than QE

the main reason I think he declares is he is banking his whole next year on 3 receivers he has never played with and I dont care how good we may think QE is it took him 1.5 seasons to figure out Worthy and Mitchell, Sander he knew from high school

Good point but with the new rookie salary cap he can only make so much money, thats why teams are getting what they can out of a young QB and dumping them before they do stupid things and pay guys like Prescott stupid money....and you made the point about going lower in the draft to a better team....Bryce Young is a perfect example of that he has absolutely nothing to work with

Don’t understand your negative opinion on Dak. He is statistically one of the best qbs in the NFL this year.
And he is a class act off the field. Cowboys could do a lot worse.
And you are off base on Quinn too. He will have a veteran Oline, a stacked running back room, and Sark will bring in a couple of good receivers.
He is leading candidate for Heisman, and a future top 3 pick. Put in his NIL money and he is in a really good spot with Horns next year.

ok agree to disagree, not really the place to discuss Dak

Even after all the declarations Bobby Burton thought it was 98% that Ewers returns. Pray that that happens because Ewers is our best chance to get to the CFP. Manning just puts us in the Colt McCoy scenario of 2006.

Got to admit that I haven't even paid any attention to the QB's in this year's draft. Did not realize that JT Daniels would be considered as 1 of the top 4 QB's in the draft.

But I am also puzzled by the comment that QE knew Sanders from high school.
