Yeesh. That's alot of departures from guys with experience or were expected to get starter experience next fall.

Quick change as CB Ryan Watts has decided to depart, per IT.

No word on what his plan is.

We'll see if there's any more discussion on this later, but reads like he didn't have interest in safety and/or he wasn't guaranteed to start.

IT added Muhammad is one of the starters at CB next year regardless.

And not saying he's leaving because of it, but apparently he was pretty low about his performance against Washington.

A few comments:

1. Gbenda should stay and have little competition to take his job. Not sure why'd downgrade schools to Nevada.
2. Blackwell still plays a bunch but he'd make more sense to leave for Nevada.
3. I have Guilbeau penciled in to start in Barron's spot. Who has passed him on that depth chart?
4. Watts can get drafted this year I'd think. I'd go to the nfl if I were unhappy here. But I do agree Brooks and Muhammad should pushing hard for starts at corner.
5. We seem to be putting a ton of faith in a safety rotation of Williams, Mukuba, and Taafe to let Crawford, Thompson, and the other transfers already in the portal walk. Filsame and JJR better come in ready to play.

Hopefully he stays. We have done wayyyy worse than Watts at corner in the past. Went against 1st rounders and got burned. Get better and burn them next year.

That's where the coaches need to work on his self-esteem and confidence. Unless they just don't want him.

I think Filasaime is good enough to start. He's coming early so he'll get the benefit of an off-season here.

You didn't mention Wardell Mack. I doubt he ever plays safety but he will be a quality addition to the secondary. Kid can play.

Someone on here asked about Colton Vasek being in street clothes for every game. You are correct, either Burton or Vogel said that he was dealing with an injury that happened his senior year.

Thanks, that was me week or 2 ago. Hopefully he is healthy next year

McDonald will be training in Barron's spot.

What's funny is I haven't seen anything lately on Barron's plans, and he helped recruit Mukuba to Texas since they're old friends.

It's pretty clear Sark knows the secondary is the team's weakness as is evidenced by all the movement and type of player being brought in, and I don't think the staff is done there.

From what I read today, it sounds like they've told him they like other guys more at CB going forward.

He either doesn't want to play safety and/or wants to take his shot at the NFL.

Assuming this is true it's an example of Sark's honesty. By being honest and direct he may lose a valuable member of the team, but he retains his integrity and the trust of his players. I suspect other coaches use a less principled approach, which may be better in the short term , but will likely backfire in the longer term.
