I highly doubt that. You will have conference champions from

PAC12 - Washington/Oregon
Big10 - Michigan
SEC - Georgia/Bama
BIG12 - Texas
ACC which I think loses Saturday to Louisville.

Georgia and Bama are going to take 2 slots of the 4? So who gets snubbed? Texas and Fl State? Those optics will not go down well, especially snubbing a conference champion who beat Bama. By their own logic then we deserve to be in over both Georgia and Bama then. We beat Bama which beat Georgia thus Texas > Bama > Georgia.

I think it comes down to Oregon/Washington, Michigan, Georgia/Bama, Texas. Florida State loses this weekend
The precedent has been set for two teams from one conference to play in the CFP. The SEC twice and the Big10 once.
UGa has been the #1 team all season long. If Alabama beats them, say 28-27, both will get in and the head to head with Texas won't matter.

I can make the argument Texas > Bama, Bama > Georgia if Bama wins. Thats not an assumption, thats based on head to head. Now that transitive logic you can say Texas > Georgia. For both of them to get in ahead of Texas is downright criminal. It snubs one conference and completely ignores a HEAD to HEAD.

They might do it but then but the uproar should be deafening.

Simmons is coming in Jan. His playing time is already decreasing just the thought of that....
I think he would at least stay one more year just to test the waters. It's not like Vasek and Tapp have dominated Walton. They are all young.

Burton at IT said today that he believes RB Jonathan Brooks is more likely to go pro than return.

That's what most were saying before his injury, then after the injury the thinking was he would come back and rehab so he could enter the draft fully healed. Hopefully his seriously considering going pro is an indication that his rehab is going better then expected.

Your precedence of 2 teams from the same conference getting in the playoffs needs a little more context.

In 2017, Alabama made the playoffs as a 1-loss non-conference champion because there were only 3 conference champion teams with 1 loss or less.

In 2021, Georgia made the playoffs as a 1-loss non-conference champion because there were only 2 conference champion teams with 1 loss or less.

In 2022, Ohio State made the playoffs as a 1-loss non-conference champion because there were only 2 conference champion teams with 1 loss or less.

In other words, no non-conference champion team has ever made the playoffs at the expense of a 1-loss conference champion. That is your true precedence.

This my thoughts as well. Need Louisville and Bama to win for Texas to get in
I'm the opposite on Bama as I fear that would make things even harder for Texas.

The committee would have to decide what takes priority:

- Texas' head-to-head win over Bama
- Bama defeating a Georgia team that is the two-time defending champion and hasn't lost since 2021

I get it the argument being made. It defies all logic. Head to head doesnt get any clearer. If head to head doesnt matter then committees should pick conference champions as well for tie breakers.

In this scenario (Bama over Ga), it should be:
1. Mich
2. Texas
3. Oregon
4. Bama

Likely:
1. Mich.
2. Bama
3. Oregon
4. Texas
