My initial reaction is it's going to be based on Ewers' diagnosis and how long he's out, but it's a real interesting situation regardless.
- Manning's redshirt status doesn't matter if we're all working with the idea that he's a three-year player anyway
- I could be waaaaay off and it's possible Murphy deserves the start, but my personal opinion has always been that Manning will be the guy next year and Sark knows that deep down, so he may decide to make the call for Manning to get him game experience if Ewers is out for several weeks
- if the prognosis is good and it's one or two games, Sark may roll with Murphy to test the waters and go from there with a thought in the back of his mind that he doesn't want Murphy leaving before spring training next year
- most importantly, it won't matter who Sark puts out there if he's going to call game the way he did today and play not to lose because he's fearful a young QB may make mistakes
Basically, I don't know as I think it's a really tough call with several factors to consider.
