Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I'm still mad about the game too, but it was a game that was winnable and we just didn't execute. The season is not lost.

It could be a lot worse....imagine if we lost to them 49-0.....
Not mad just disappointed but 49-0 gives you lot of incentive. Told buddy in first didn't look good. Have learned over years, don't get too high or low.

My issue with Steve Sarkisian is that he gets cute and conservative when pressure builds. He can recruit but he folds under pressure. He needs to clean that up because Herman does that too much and I can’t stand that

The fact this team is even being discussed for a playoff spot is ahead of schedule, imo. I equated this team to the 2008 team...almost there, but still a little more tweaking to go. I went into this year with 10-2 in my head with 11-1 as overachieving. As far as I'm concerned, they're a little bit ahead.

Don't get me wrong, the loss sucked and I'm still upset by it, but the bigger picture is still there.
IMO the 2008 team was better than the 2009 team. Three way tie for the South Div and they go with the highest ranked in the poll. We beat #1 ousux by ten and lost to a #5 Tech team at the last moment.

In my mind there are two reasons we lost Saturday. 1. Coaching, the guys were not as prepared as they should have been also the play calling by Sark was questionable at times specifically in the red zone. 2. Injuries, Majors and Catalon going down in game was bad. It put a RS freshman at center and allowed ousux to pick on Thompson. Don't discount the injuries that kept Watts and Hutson out of the line up. If these four players see the field for the entirety of the game things may have ended differently.

we got exposed on pass defense, we have some big hitters back there but they are horrible and have very poor technique on coverage, they are so afraid of getting beat over the top they give such a big cushion underneath, we do not play zone well at all , not Coach PK strong suit, as well as we supposedly recruited at DB we sure rent seeing it, a lot of them are playing like high schoolers not collegiate, and considering who they face in practice every day there is no excuse

Former Longhorn LB De'Gabriel Floyd is attempting a comeback and just committed to Charlotte.
I wonder if he had surgery for the spinal stenosis. I think the surgeons declined to do the surgery when he was here.

247 had a report on OL Jake Majors that he could miss potentially the rest of the regular season, but IT says that's highly unlikely.

They believe he'll be questionable for Houston with a likely return for BYU.
