when I lived in LV I saw all kinds of longhorn logos on cars, and saw a guy at Costco with a burnt orange shirt with a white Longhorn logo so I flashed him my Hook em Horns and said hook em to him, he says " WTH are you talking about" , I told him you shirt its a Texas Longhorn shirt, come to find out one of the new high schools in the area decided to call themselves the Longhorns and use the logo, and here I thought the LV chapter of the Texas Exes was growing rapidly

What? Wait! They're putting our brand on their calves? That's cattle rusl'n padna. Hook'em 'n hang'em.

Actually  I like the idea of our brand spreading in the high schools. They grow up being a Longhorn fan.

It has everything to do with the logo. If what the Nevada story holds true about the t-shirt w/logo the University of Texas will pursue legal recourse against that organization. I would be willing to bet that WT White's logo is different than UT's logo.

I don't know. What do their logo's look like? Harper's was the classic Longhorn logo on a green background.

Rumor has it they did the same thing to Gardner-Edgertom Ks HS over their logo a few years back when we lived there. GE changed their logo all together

I'm not trying to argue with anyone. I know what UT did to Harper H.S.

I don't think we should, or UT should, get worked up about our logo being used in the high school ranks.

Having our logo out there circulating in the high school ranks is a good thing, a highest form of flattery.

I realize UT wants to exercise some control over how the logo is used, but neither Dobie or WT White were doing anything wrong with it.

Longhorns and its logo are quite unique. And when they're copied, they're not copied because the color is cool or the logo is cool. Its because they want to emulate the high profile, highly popular UT football team who wins.

 I think that if they don't exercise control over their trademark,  then they could lose it.

I was just watching highlight videos and it dawned on me that Baxter looks like a heavier version of Erik Dickerson. He runs upright with very little lean just like Dickerson. Not a bad comp in my eyes.
