They mentioned he had submitted MRIs to teams...Also said he was ready to be a full go.On S Jalen Catalon, worth mentioning that IT said Texas was very thorough with his injury history before deciding if they would take a chance adding him to the roster.
Either way, worth the risk. If he stays healthy, you are talking about a possible all american level player. If injured, not much opportunity cost by bring him in.They mentioned he had submitted MRIs to teams...Also said he was ready to be a full go.
I think his risk is a repeat shoulder injury.
BJ Allen has not progressed to where staff feels comfortable with it. Bringing in Catalon only makes everyone better as they will learn from him. His play will make their play better.Remember with transfers the real opportunity cost is stealing valuable reps from younger players who may (or may not) have a higher ceiling and upside over time, but simply need development and time which comes from reps - reps that a veteran transfer is now taking away. For example, what about safety BJ Allen?
Valid poiint. You really don't want to take guys that are similar or just a small step above what you already. Especially if those guys are 1 year players. Catalon may have 3 years left of eligibility. though kinda hope he is NFL bound in 2 years.Remember with transfers the real opportunity cost is stealing valuable reps from younger players who may (or may not) have a higher ceiling and upside over time, but simply need development and time which comes from reps - reps that a veteran transfer is now taking away. I want Samples, but also like the idea of Margin Hooks. Receivers coach has to either be young or naturally be able to relate to the players.Bastards!!!! Wasn't Texas/Sark wanting to go after Jones? Really hope they find a good WR coach.
Samples is a good recruiter, but I like Hooks.I want Samples, but also like the idea of Margin Hooks. Receivers coach has to either be young or naturally be able to relate to the players.

Have you heard that about BJ specifically or just following the lead of Catalon being a take?BJ Allen has not progressed to where staff feels comfortable with it. Bringing in Catalon only makes everyone better as they will learn from him. His play will make their play better.
Plus, our need is not only for a starter, but for solid depth, too. Safeties often don't make it through a full season.
Competition for OL starters will be very interesting in the spring and fall. IT saying they think Christian Jones may need to move inside to play guard which could be his best chance for the NFL. Junior Angilau may have been prepping to replace Majors at center before his injury, so Majors' job may be shaky at this point. And let’s not forget Neto Omeozulu and Malik Agbo. Both were high 4 star recruits who redshirted last year.
Yeah, heard about BJ specifically because I had asked.Have you heard that about BJ specifically or just following the lead of Catalon being a take?
The offensive line room is loaded, sadly I see some exodus after Spring practice as a result. That's the nature of the beast. Flood needs to continue to recruit quality and quantity. And let’s not forget Neto Omeozulu and Malik Agbo. Both were high 4 star recruits who redshirted last year.
I would have thought the exact opposite because of his background.Yeah, heard about BJ specifically because I had asked.
I also asked about losing Marion and was surprised to hear my friend was glad to see him go and he suspected some coaches were as well. I asked why and he said the guy was too cocky and immature, at times embarrassingly so. He was a good coach he said, just not that great of a person.
