I would say last nights game and the TCU game are two where we got BEAT, the final score might have looked nice but we flat out got beat, the other 3 losses, we choked. Huskies scouted us well and showed our glaring defensive vulnerabilities, and how one dimensional we are without a great RB(s) and a QB who seems to look for one receiver and one receiver only...And by the way, no one has congratulated the Huskies on this thread. They played a well coached game against us.
NIL…..you get what you are worth. You want more, be more valuable. Dropping easy catches devalues you.Really disappointed in Worthy this game. All the portal and NIL talk and the guy whiffs on the field....again.
I think I would replace "consistency" with "hands". He doesn't make catches that aren't exactly on the mark.I think he (Worthy) has as much if not more to prove than anyone on the offense going into next year. He has all the tools to be a dominant #1 except maybe consistency. Hopefully he returns and that comes with another year of maturity.
I agree - and think there is opportunity to organically grow, improve, and develop with the talent that will be on campus next year. Now comes the hard work of physically doing that… no shortcuts to successThe D held Washington to two TDs under their average for the season, so that says something about their improvement this year, even without Overshown playing. Our offense threw the ball well aside from a few bad drops. The run game was lacking without RB1 and RB2 playing, but that shouldn't be a surprise. To have been that close to the #12 ranked team without 3 NFL-bound players isn't that bad of a showing in my opinion.
all great takesFrom reading all the articles on game came up with some conclusions
OL has room for improvement spring and fall practice should take care of this
QBneeds to improve mostly on deep ball.
RBshould be ok was disapointed in decision to start and feature Robinson over Brooks who ever made it.
WR it is what it is. Oif Bullet Bob can be taught to catch a pass whycannot Worthy?
Murphy was not going to play Portal possiblity.?
How many wins needed to make agood season?
Sark has his players now no excuses.
Sweat was held all night & they were never called for it.Big things for this game:
We really had no run game to speak of. I think Bijan and Roschon would have been very helpful tonight at they covered up a lot of our run blocking issues.
Their run game had a lot more success against us than I expected. We have been pretty elite against the run this year but they have consistent success against us.
Our pass defense kept and explosive Washington pass attack in check most of the night.
D-line got pressure, but Penix is nearly impossible to sack.
He is hard to intercept as well so huge that we got one and nearly a second.
Pass game put up some numbers but was inconsistent and that made it hard to sustain drives.
I agree and I realize hindsight is 20/20, but IMO Sark and his staff panicked and gave up on the run too soon . Brooks just hit the hole faster and as we saw at the goal line has more power than KR., and then when Texas fell behind by 17 half the playbook was gone, but I give the Huskies credit they weren't going to get beat deep and they let Texas move the ball until we got in the red zoneMy thoughts . . .
OFFENSE
– Sark made a big mistake in simply dropping Keilan Robinson in Bijan Robinson's role. What should have happened was plugging Brooks into that role and keeping Keilan in his same role, perhaps slightly expanded.
Put it this way – Brooks touched the ball 8 times. He scored on two of those touches. What the hell was Sark thinking?
– OL is going to be fine. Campbell should be your starting OG now. I'd like to see Cam get a shot at that RT spot. Maybe Connor to C?
DEFENSE
– Considering how well Washington scouted us, I thought we did a pretty good job. Held them to well below their offensive numbers. Their QB had a less than desirable game, stat-wise, going 32 of 54 for only 287 yards. He had two TDs and one INT. Where their QB hurt us was on 3rd and 4th downs. He was clutch there.
– The secondary played better than I expected. I thought we'd get more INTs due simply to how many times Penix threw bad passes.
– I did not expect to get gashed in the run game. That surprised me. Washington isn't a good run offense but we made them look good.
The influx of talent that Sark is bringing in is tremendous. Players will develop (including Ewers) and get better.I would say last nights game and the TCU game are two where we got BEAT, the final score might have looked nice but we flat out got beat, the other 3 losses, we choked. Huskies scouted us well and showed our glaring defensive vulnerabilities, and how one dimensional we are without a great RB(s) and a QB who seems to look for one receiver and one receiver only...
We will be a different team next year, we have to be to compete with the Jones
JWhitt was in the slot. The heavy targeting of Worthy may have been by design (Sark).I do have a question for those that know the roster and lineup better than I do....If XW is in the SE, who is in the slot/flanker and how many times was he targeted...I mean when we empty the backfield that gives us FIVE potential guys in the pattern, were any of them besides XW open ?
Common sense tells me that XW may be the main target but any decent pass play has a check down as the QB goes thru his progressions
thats how I would play XW, get physical at the line and try and knock him off his route and timing, he is giving up 20-30 lbs on most of these guys. I think he also gets short arms over the middle, but if he gets a step on you GOODBYEWhitt should have been targeted more. He is stronger and more reliable. Cain, as well. Sanders. Worthy gets pushed around.
We need a ROFLMAO emoji because I would give this two or three.I admit I plagiarized this from Twitter
"..Worthy tried the transfer portal...but dropped the paperwork "
Too Soon ?
