Our beloved #22 Longhorns will have a nice bowl game in what is almost a home game for us there in San Antonio. Our crowd should dominate throughout the game.

However, #12 Washington (10-2) present an interesting challenge for the Horns. Can we stop an offense where the QB must be accounted for on every play? We saw that a couple of times this year. Penix has the most unfortunate last name in football but is in his 6th year in the college ranks, so he's experienced and makes good decisions with the football. He can hurt you equally bad with his legs and arm.

The question marks for the Longhorns this game all sit on the offensive side. So the defense should be stout and fully loaded for this one. But on offense, there is no Bijan and there is no Roschon. That's scary in a way, but exciting when you consider this will be a coming out party for Johnathan Brooks.

We're hearing very good things from practice regarding the play of Quinn Ewers. Between he and Brooks, I think our offense will be plenty potent.

Texas 36

Washington 24

I don't really care much about this game, so by obvious logical extrapolation, I assume the team doesn't much care about it either. Players 0, 2 and 5 didn't care enough about it to even show up. On the other hand, Washington may feel they have something to prove and may be able to prove it. Ergo (that's old timey talk for therefore) I pick: Texas 28 - 36 Washington.

I actually looked at the stats and I watched a couple of Huskie games and everything says that they shred the UT secondary....but I also looked at the betting line and it has dropped to Texas minus 3.5

IMO this come down to  who really wants to be at the Alamo Bowl, Coach K and Gary P have had a month to come up with a scheme..If they stick with the zone the Huskies will go crazy and could run us out of San Antonio. They can no longer use the excuse they are young, they are going to have to bring the house and trust some guys to play man to man...The best way to beat a passer is to keep him off the field and to do that we have to run the football and avoid the three and outs

Longhorns in a squeaker and win but dont cover..This Huskie team is #12 for a reason

Headed to San Antonio tomorrow. Gonna stop in Fredericksburg for some fun on the way. Should be a good game.

Anyone here going to the game my crew will be posted up pregaming at Smoke Skybar around 3pm Thursday.  Come on by and have a cold one.

Washington is a pretty terrible defensive team, they don't run the ball (by choice) and have a very potent passing attack. They are a vintage Big 12 team.

I think their defense is suspect enough to give up a lot of points, especially if Quinn is back in a groove. I think we have success running the ball even without Roschon and Bijan.

We won't need to commit many resources to stopping the run. We do need to get pressure on Penix and hopefully bring him down. He is mobile but doesn't run much, he does extend passing plays though. Do we get pieced apart all day like the Texas Tech game or do we play tight enough coverage and secure a few sacks and turnovers?

I'll go Texas 45-35.

any idea on who gets the start at RB1...will it be Kielan Robinson or has Brooks gone by him as RB1.5

Do we see Maalik Murphy at QB

I'm interested to see if Sark goes all out to win this game or treat it as an early Spring game, which is basically what non-playoff bowl games are to me now days.

Ewers has something to prove as do rb

I hope he tries go all out for our  players sake,if they see him not trying, they will lay down. Not good message to 2024 recruits or incoming.

I'm meeting a buddy in San Antonio so we can go to the game. Saw that @MBHORNSFANis going to be down there too. Shout out on here if anyone else is going. Here's to hoping for some momentum heading into next season.

Texas 41

UW 30

These post season scrimmages are determined, not by the better team, but by which team doesn’t want to be there less.  Unfortunately, Washington gets the nod:

Washington 39  Texas 32

That said, I’ll be there wearing burnt orange.
