That’s why the frustration level is so high for me.  UT at the very least has more talent than 8 or 9 of the other Big12 teams and it seems we have wasted it because we cannot read the flow of the game and make the necessary adjustments which leads to the wrong play calls on offense and defense.  For the life of me I don’t understand us doing the same thing over and over like last year and thinking it’s a formula for winning.  I know the players want to win and so does this coaching staff BUT it requires better decision making by the coaches and execution by the players.  Somehow I think this is more mental than physical.  But hell part of the frustration it’s my fault for having such high expectations.  UT dominating in football somehow makes the world seem right.

Have you noticed that the home teams usually dominate ? I think if you look at home vs away games you will see a dramatic difference in team performance. Why is that ?

Home cooking by the refs. How in the hell can one team get 14 penalties and another get 0 in same game ?

Our woes on the road are part in the teams mind, and part poor referees. 
To win on the road one team has to be clearly superior. 
when we beat Iowa St. there were a few calls that went our way or we don’t win. 
when okie st beat us they had multiple calls that went there way. 

Today Okie st. Is on the road. I’m not watching, but I can guarantee they ain’t getting any calls. 
How many millions are gambled on these games ?

Am I the only one or is it pretty impressive what Josh Hueple has done with Tennessee?  All the guys that left, the scandal with the previous coach, and yet he has his team in the thick of it all.  For all those that say it takes 4 years to build a program I guess that’s true unless you are Josh Hueple.

Impressive to me also. Would been my first choice for Texas job.

Yep.  We will either be more of a laughing stock than we already are or possibly will finally get our sh#t together and rise from the ashes of mediocrity.  I wouldn’t take that bet though.

Hmmmmm, being that I have been keeping up with this forum for the past years, I don't recall anyone really pushing for Josh Heupel in here.  We all were clamoring for Urban or some other high profile or hot shot guy, but I don't remember Heupel at all.

Riley is doing pretty well because he was able to bring over a lot of his coaching staff and players, especially QB, to make the transition MUCH easier.  It's not quite an apples to apples comparison.

Riley is doing pretty well because he was able to bring over a lot of his coaching staff and players, especially QB, to make the transition MUCH easier.  It's not quite an apples to apples comparison.

Then you saw a while back I said Josh would have been my first choice and why.

If you will remember, Stoops brought Heupel in when he first got there. Heupel was a transfer from some college in South Dakota. OU was wandering in the dark through the Blake years.

Nobody expected OU to do anything for a few years. But behind Heuple, they made a bowl in their first year. The next year, they won it all.

He's employing the Leach system, where its not really about high star recruits, but a system that if worked properly, is pretty tough to beat for anybody.

There is no doubt he has done well since being run out of Norman as a play caller. Important to realize however that he has a very experienced team in key spots this year. That doesn’t hurt.

I never advocated for Hueple to be hired.  My point was it’s is pretty amazing what he has accomplished in such a short period of time.  There is a very good chance that Tennessee will make it into the CFP and it did not take him 4 years which seems to be what most people say it will take Sark.

I think his post was diricted to my post. However any thing against Sark brings out defenders even if true. BS facts they are called.
