*****Game Thread: #20 Texas Longhorns vs #11 Oklahoma State Cowboys*****

Because he probably knew Card wasn't going to help. Card can't move and their rush was working.

Card lost the job to two different QBs, one was a 3-star. Yet we somehow thought he was going to save us?
Get a new toon dude, your boy Ewers was horrendous. Another stupid comment about Card, that’s all you do.

Absolutely right. We also played with an o-line with 3 freshmen, right?, one soph, and one senior.  As compared to their upperclassmen laden o-line.
Very right  Texas starts two freshmen. Might schould have hit portal for OL instead of  recievers.

Y’all may not have noticed it, but something else Sark has, may have picked up the knack for it from Saban. He doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

The reporters know it, too.  Their questions are carefully worded, and aren’t as ridiculous as they usually are, but, hey, any of you are welcome to try.  Go ahead, push hard against a coach with the full support of CDC.

btw, who approves access to the PC?

Good Lord, you really are up to your nose in this QB pretend battle, aren't you.

By the way, its "tune" not "toon."

He's not my boy and yes he was horrendous and given he wasn't on I have no idea why we chose to pass 49 times.

There's nothing Card can do that Ewers can't do better, from what I've seen. That keeps you up at night. Not me. I just want to win.

Sark is like all coaches, he does not know what a player can do until he trys him..Be willing to beCard can move pretty well if given a chance to play his game. Which IMO is roll out not stuck in pocket

Ewers is and schould be the starter, but nothing is writen in stone that if having a terrible, he cannot be removed for a series or two.
Agree except on Card's moving well.

The thing is – Card is both a necessity and a luxury. You cannot win without two quality QBs. And we have the best backup QB I've seen so far.

The mistake that was made in Stillwater, imho, was not leaning on our running game more.  However, when the chips were down, and we had 3 minutes to get downfield, Ewers was spot on.

If Sanders catches that last pass, he should have a direct path to the end zone with his strength.

Hook ‘em!

Can some one tell me what part of the gamewas Red yelling at Ewers. I missed bur have it recorded.

Great point Java. Something Sark alluded to today and admitted he made a mistake not relying more on the running game. Another thing I appreciate about him as opposed to the last two, he will take responsibility.

Time will tell if he actually learns from his mistakes and makes adjustments. If he doesn’t, the pitchfork and torch bearers will be correct. If he does, they will find some other area where he fails.

I beg the differ.  Twice Ewers left the pocket for positive yardage and the middle of the field wide open.  Why not more called runs then?  Card is the better runner.  Why not try it just for the late drive to get a spark?

Card didn’t lose the job this year.  He came in as the backup and played well enough to be undefeated in the stretch he played.  Yea they lost one with him as a starter, but he played well enough to win that one, with a bum ankle.

He’s 10-10 and has not shown he realizes the need to adjust late yet.  He could easily be 15-5 maybe better. I’m tired of hind sight.  See it as it is happening.

So Card wasn't competing to be the starting QB? Seriously? He was just going through the motions? Where did you hear this?

Was it really a competition, or a facade? From the moment Quinn was bought through the portal he was anointed as the King and the future. In retrospect it has become more clear, like after Saturday.

Does anyone think that Bijan competed for his job with Roschon? Sometimes they don't even pretend.

During the game, did you think Card should have been inserted?  Not named starter… inserted when it was obvious Ewers was…. off (off seems way too mild).  In an effort to win the game at hand.

Curious to get your ex-QB thoughts.

Honestly, I would have pulled Ewers and inserted Card at the beginning of the 4th. I understand a QB can be off one day. Maybe Card isn't off and can get us some points.

That is what I would have done.

Maybe there is a good reason I've never been a coach, though. Sark did what he thought best.
