My point about psychology was to highlight that players can lose confidence when they come out expecting to roll over someone.  They feel strong, they’re amped up, and feel like the baddest person on the planet…until someone on the opposing side feels the same way and runs over them.
 Eating the rat poison?

I think KS back up beat us last year.
Jason Bean started last year as the #1 QB for Kansas with Jalon Daniels as the backup. From the game log, it looks like Jason Bean was either benched or got hurt just before halftime of the Kansas State game which was the week before the Texas game. Jalon Daniels started the last 3 games beginning the next week against Texas.

Jason Bean was simply not very good last year as a starter. But he did come in last week against TCU after Daniels got hurt and played the best game of his career.

I suspect Rece Davis thinks the same way a lot of us do but maybe are afraid to say it out loud, BUT I WILL.....Texas can and should run the table in the remaining six games, yes its going to be tough but IMO many of us would be disappointed at a 4-2 finish...in 1968 Texas was floundering when they made a QB change, they changed to Street and the Wishbone and ran the table, and they destroyed Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl and there was very little doubt at that time they might have been the best team in the country that no one wanted to face. I see the same thing happening here. They broke down a huge psychological hurdle Sat, the Big 12 Championship always went thru the RRS..well it still does but the Horns are in the driver seat this year. They won't make the 4 team playoff this year but if this was still the BCS era they are staring at a major bowl and they control their own destiny.

No doubt in my mind that PAC-12 champ with one loss gets in the playoffs over 2 loss Texas Big-12 champ.
It's a fun debate to have for sure.

Oregon or USC would need to win their conference to get a playoff spot, and I don't think anyone disagrees there.

But a one-loss Pac-12 team up against a two-loss Texas that lost to Bama by one, has a stronger schedule and hasn't lost with a healthy Ewers?

That's a tough conversation imo.

I think they're capable and this team has a different feel from a pride perspective, but I'm going to fade them on the road until Sark can prove he can bust through that wall.

They're better than Oklahoma State, but not a full believer yet.

USC will have the hype, but Oregon has that devastating loss to Georgia around their necks. Who would want to see that again?

USC might meet the same fate, but everyone on the west coast will hype them to no end.

Myself, I don't know that USC will beat UCLA later this season. UCLA is looking pretty damned good.

Yes, I should've included UCLA in there.

The only problem with being in the Pac-12 is one conference slip-up means you're likely out of the conversation.

Keep in mind that the two losses that Texas has is not bad losses at all. They played both teams really close. This is a fun conversation to have.
