*****GAME THREAD: TEXAS vs. OKLAHOMA*****

POTG : Ewers

Breakout Player : Brooks

Group: Offense, they dictated the whole nature of the game, allowed the defense to pin their ears back and just go after the ball once they were up by three scores

Game Ball : Sarkisian, showed what he is capable of doing, he and his staff had OU scouted well and he had OU guessing on every snap

dont want to say this was a revenge game, but the Texas fans deserved to see this ass kicking at least once in their life
X factor: Whittington - He made some key catches to keep drives going and was blocking his ass off. I went back and watched some replays. His blocking and attitude don't show up on the scoreboard, but are vital to our success.

Lord have mercy on me. Talk about a huge big size (___y___).. whippin

Y'all realize that if/when the ags get their butts kicked tonight, this will be two weeks in a row that we won and ou and atm both lost.
 Last year...just sayin hold up a minute.

A few thought's from down town Malta.

1 Always great to beat sooners. Even with out their QB, they will not win another game till he returns.

2 Defense has a way to go. Gave up big yards agsinst wildcat. Knew what was commingbut had trouble stopping it. Maybe Sark took notes for variations to it.

3 Was Ewers a little rusty.  not his best game? Did look good on the run.
They held ou to 195 total yards with less than 50 coming in the 2nd half while shutting them out.

And Arkansas.

BAMA is keeping aggy in the game with turnovers.

Any keep up with the count of players OU utilized at QB today?

QBs - Beville and Evers

RBs- Eric Gray and Marcus Majors

WRs- Jalil Farooq and Brayden Willis

Punter - Michael Turk (threw a pass on fake FG)

That's 7 different players taking snaps. They really tried to throw whatever they could at the position. Some of it was effective but I think we adjusted to it nicely.

Also, Texas used 3 QBs today and I feel like 10 QBs in 1 game has to be some kind of record.

After watching this game now for a second time, it is incredible to me just how bad OU is. I mean, they are awful.

I have had my doubts about Venables. There is really nothing about him that is dynamic at HC. And its showing right now.

The defense is awful. No strength in the middle. Secondary is terrible. And this is under a defensive minded HC. I thought Jeff Lebby would be Venables saving grace so they would at least still be dangerous on offense. That didn't happen.

I don't think there's much change in the outcome even if their #1 QB had started. They may have scored once but nothing more.

I would truly hate to be OU right now. They're headed to the SEC where they won't be kind to this kind of a team. And I don't see how OU can fully recover. Not with Venables at the helm.

Next week, they host Kansas and will probably lose. I look at their schedule and I truly don't see a W there for them.

And I will enjoy every week of it. :)

I've watched it several times and yes they were really bad. I'd like to think Texas had something to do with how bad they were. At the start of the 4th quarter, ou (it's never freakin capitalized!) had 186 total yards. They finished with 195.

I just watched it again and totally agree. A couple of other things to note:

- Kelvin Banks will be an AA and Hayden Conner is not too bad himself;

- biggest difference, for me, between Ewers and Card is that QE throws guys open. Card is good, but this what I mean by being a half second to a second late on throws. As a former coach, some players just have it and some don't. Like the difference between a great PG in basketball and a serviceable PG. A great PG passes guys to an open spot to score.;

- Last thing, It's 0513 in Hawaii and OU really sucks.

Agree 100%. This is also happening at the perfect time. They will be losing recruits soon and with Riley gone, the California connection will be non-existent.

Unless they turn over the roster and in a hurry, the sec will not be kind to them. VB's sear is getting HOT early on.

You know what you always say, they have to give him at least 3 years?
Schools are less patient then they were in the past. Brian Harsin would love a third year but that appears unlikely. If 0u doesn't make significant improvements by the end of next year I don't think Venables will get a third year.
