Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I am having to write in bits and pieces as I am out of country.

What I read is to expect the defense to be physical. I had to re read that to make sure they were talking about Texas. Supposedly Overshown is going to be special.

Send me $9.95 please.

Overshown and all sounds like last years hype to me.

We need that first game now. Not sure about the second'

Well LLWS is on ABc ar one.

Thanks oldhorn for getting us back to non-recruiting team news.

Saw a couple of posts back where SHA paraphrased TFB that Hutson was the long term solution at C.  However, they also stated the starting OL would (L to R): Banks, Conner, Majors, Campbell and Karic).  Was that just the OL right now since Hutson is day to day?  And what happened to Jones on at RT?

Regarding the WR, is there any news on who will taking over the other WR spot?  Milton, Thompson, Cain?  Could Whittington move over and you go with Thompson and Red in the slot.  Ideally it would be Omiere or Hall, but they haven't been available.

Thoughts?

On Tuesday at the 11 on 11, there were 3-4 badly missed snaps, not sure who. It needs work, and after practice they were seen practicing.

Also that night, Cain was the star receiver, but that was 1 snapshot. Thompson dropped a LOT of passes.

IT saying Campbell, Conner, Majors, Hutson, Jones left to right on the OL with Karic, unknown, unknown, Campbell, Williams as back ups.

My guess on the WR spot would be Omeire, Thompson and Cain

No Banks? Everything I've been reading is that he may take the LT starting spot

It'll be nice to get this back to recruiting. I'm over the drama on how word got out. I'll wait for the 30 for 30 to get the details. Ewers has been named the starter and I hope he has a hell of a year.

Definitely has the gunslinger mentality, so he will throw some interceptions, but he will bounce right back and make an unbelievable throw on the next drive. I got a chance to see him a handful of times at Southlake. Best HS QB I've ever seen in person. Hopefully he can be just as advertised in College.

Hook 'em ?
Agree on all counts. Someone tell me the right way to get the word out that doesn't involve controversy.

Should we ask Mack? No one handled the media/BMDs better than he did, and his announcement for Applewhite/Simms led to no controversy, right? Or even issues on a smaller scale with Strong or Herman who always made these announcements the "correct" way. Always a QB controversy no matter how it's delivered focused on the players.

Maybe... just maybe... Sark delivered it this way so the inevitable controversy would be about the message and the messenger itself with attacks deflected back against Sark. This as opposed to fighting about whether the decision itself was correct or not and focusing the attacks on the players.

Let the other guy play Bama.

Let's just hope we don't have another big injury report after today's scrimmage.
