Bijan looked like an alien, he runs so low, with his pads always forward, and effortlessly makes multiple direction changes with instant speed bursts to stay outside the pile in the green space. We could be in for a real show. He hung around the stands and signed autographs and was living happily in the moment.
I've watched a good amount of football in my day and no RB has made me drop my jaw like Bijan. I make my wife watch replays and she (of not football knowledge or interest) is even able to realize how freaky some of his moves are.

Is he the most freakishly athletic RB we have ever had? I know this is a bold question to ask. Ricky and Earl were obviously great but their style was more prototypical down hill runner, run you over and occasional make a guy miss (Benson in this category too). Jamaal was speed, one cut and he's gone.

Bijan has enough power and a really good stiff arm. He can run away from the defense if there is a hole. I think his greatest attribute is the ability to make guys miss with a juke, spin or change in running speed - probably one notch below Reggie Bush in that regard. He is also a great receiver, better than the aforementioned RBs.

Old heads, don't jump down my throat on this one, just an interesting question and comparison. Either way, make sure to enjoy the show this fall, likely the last time we see Bijan in burnt orange.

According to what I've read today, Card has an accuracy issue. His arm strength is about the same as it was last year.

Ewers is more of a gunslinger but his accuracy and arm strength is far better than Card. Ewers will probably start, but we'll have to live with an INT or two with each game.
Get it you don't like Card but no need to make stuff up. Curious where you read "accuracy issue?"

The Football Brainiacs, or TFB, as I said. They published a story about yesterday's practice and also the one before that. Both times it came up.

I don't make stuff up. I like the one who gives us the best chance to win, whoever that turns out to be.

I like the drama, this is the fun part. Maybe he's going to shave and get a haircut?

Hard to think he rolls this out in advance of knowing who is QB1, without knowing it.

While I think Bijan is a more complete back with size, strength, agility and speed, one of my favorite RBs at Texas was Eric Metcalf.  Ricky was great and Earl was a beast, but Metcalf was something else.  He was a swiss army knife for Texas back in the day.  I remember just being in awe of his ability back then. I could watch old footage of him for hours.

As far as non-UT rbs, it still is hands down Barry Sanders.  The things he did in college and the pros was just spectacular.

Eric Metcalf is a good comparison. Both RBs have the ability to return kicks for example, which is not something Ricky or Earl ever did. If Bijan and Texas has a good offensive year, he really has a chance to join Ricky and Earl in the heisman club.

Watching old Sanders clips is something else. Insane escapability. Too bad the Lions ruined the 2nd half of his career.

I was on the track team with Eric. Rarely practiced and was 2X SWC long jump champ. Freak athlete.

CJ Vogel (at TFB) was asked who he would like in a Texas 2021 vs Texas 2022 game.

He said easy, 2022.
