NCAA to review NIL

I wish they would kill it.
They can’t. The NCAA isn’t a government. The NCAA lost this issue in the Supreme Court and state legislatures. They may be able to regulate but they passed on that as well.

They simply have to regulate this thing. Otherwise, its a free-for-all unless the FBI steps in.

Not really certain what some of you thinks needs to be killed.

The state government wrote and the governor  signed into law the NIL rules for the colleges.  Thus the state government  oversees 99% of these rules and laws with each college compliance department's.   So, unless the conferences and the compliance departments don't  agree with how the NIL is being used how does the NCAA investigate  since they have a 1 page on the NIL stating that they are leaving upto the state's  and the compliance departments of each school and the conferences.  Best have proof before  investigating 1 said school because coaches are mad.

I'm thinking it's Pandora's Box, it's too late. Anyone want to guess on which schools are being looked at? ?

The NCAA "regulating" anything is laughable. It is a bloated, ineffectual bureaucracy whose time has passed. I guess you can argue they run pretty good basketball and baseball tournaments. NIL deals will turn out to be a helluva lot more expensive for BMDs than under-the-table payments.

Oh, look, they're hot on aggie's tail now!

This article did everything but say the word aggy. You know aggy is the real reason for this probe. It got out of hand.

The NCAA and member schools should have taken this more seriously and made sure that things were done to protect the integrity of college football. All they did was put more space between the haves and have nots.

NCAA and college ball will part ways, the conferences own College football not the NCAA, this news is irrelevant

That seemed inevitable.  Schools that can throw more money at the athletes will have an advantage. Between the NIL and the huge SEC and the B1G TV payouts the relative parity we have "enjoyed" is dead.

Or like aggy sees it, more students, more future financial contributors.

Didn't aggy lower some standards to gain more enrollment some time back?

Maybe athletic departments will eventually sever legal ties to universities so they can incorporate with BMD's as major stock holders. The independent league can then negotiate with a players' union and set salary caps. If not, NIL has no limits other than the deep pockets of billionaires who really like their football.
