Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

But analysts can't hit the recruiting trail  right?

Orgeron as Co-DC might work, but I agree with soldierhorn that Patterson would not.

You can send a non-coach on the road only if you have a vacancy on your staff.

That's how Carrington was able to travel a few times under Herman.

Whoever is running the Longhorns social media needs to start realizing that post every day like something is coming down, but nothing ever comes down is probably not the best way to go.  I see crap nearly every day that gets everyone talking that something is up and most the time (nearly always) nothing ever happens.

I don't recall the actual football account ever doing this (I could be mistaken), but it's usually Harris and the recruiting analysts who drop hints and there's no immediate result.

Yes I meant football accounts in general.  Harris always has something out there and 99% of the time it’s nothing.  I just think it would be better to do it and something actually happens.  That’s just me though ?‍♂️

On Gary Patterson...IT had an update on him today saying Texas wants him pretty bad, and that his role is pretty much up to him.

That could be the head of the defense or something as small as an analyst, but the people they speak to expect him to be a part of the program in 2022.

If he was to take on a co-DC role, someone on that side of the ball will need to leave or be fired to make room for him as there are no vacancies on the coaching staff.

I think they're just doing their best to sell the program and create some sort of positive momentum since it was such a fail of a season.

Won't he be a senior next year? I don't think this is super surprising. I hope he stays healthy cause he can ball when he is.
He would possibly have more eligibility if he wanted it to due to his long injury history.

I'm surprised there isn't a Volleyball thread.  They are one of the teams at UT that has success year after year.  Plus they aren't hard on the eyes.
