Common Man Prediction Thread – UT vs the hated Sooners

I heard Sark say several times regarding BJ at the 1 yd. line, that he "earned" it. Never heard him say that about CT.
lol, he actually did say that three weeks ago. You may remember Sark noting how the offense just works with Thompson? It was during that exchange.

You've added a year to both Strong's and Herman's tenures and taken two years off my life in the process.

Herman lost to ou in the Big 12 championship game hence he is 1-4 against them. Strong was 1-2.. So corrected.

Texas needs to play sound football on Saturday and Casey will need to hit a deep ball or two.  This team is slightly above average on offense and that is entirely due to the threat of Bijan and they're below average on defense.  Casey hit's over the middle fairly constantly, but he struggles outside the hash marks and hitting the deep pass.  A smart team will dare him to beat them over the top.  I figure OU loads the box and goes all in on stopping the run.  I don't think the OL Can hold up to this pressure, hope I'm wrong.

I'll be there with my 10 year old and I don't have a prediction.  This game is always hard to judge due to the rivalry.  I do think this game is going to be really fun!  Texas and OU rank 2 and 3 for percentage of drives ending in points.

I have to agree with previous posters that we suck until we don't. I'm not seeing a pass rush and if TCU can run on us, so can OU.

OU Sux 45, Texas 41

I'll be there screaming my head off. Should be a fun game. If Texas wins this one, it will move our needle just on the "we don't" side. Win, lose or draw, OU's needle will always be on the Suck side.

BTW, what time is it? ?

Card would not be able to escape the pass rush that will be put on our qb. Our ol is just not there yet.
I've never known of a #2 ranked dual threat QB that doesn't know how to run. The game plan has changed considerably since Arky. We may get to see what he can do, unfortunately that would mean we are getting beat.

You gotta think that OU has worn out that Arkansas film this week. Arkie stopped Bijan and that's what OU will have to do to win.

If I were OU I would load the box with 7 and 8 man fronts to slow down Bijan and make Casey T beat them ..On offense I would throw and throw often and make the secondary  prove they can play Cover 2

I’m ready to jump in with my prediction now. I’m going 37-30 Horns. Just what has been popping into my head lately.

Hope I am right!

It’s 12:08 in a Wednesday and wouldn’t you know it…ou SUCKS

Here's my thinking . . . is OU's defense really good? I look at their schedule and see Tulane put up 35 on them (In Norman). Western Carolina might as well be high school ball so we can't measure anything there.

Nebraska's offense isn't that good yet they scored 16 on OU, again, in Norman.

West Virginia is pretty anemic on offense but still scored 13 in a 16-13 loss.

K-State hung 31 on them and they don't have many weapons at all.

I think we're going to score some points on OU and I don't buy the chatter about how good their defense is.

Skylar Thompson is pretty good and don’t forget Duece Vaughn. That being said, we have more weapons. It all depends on how the O-line performs.
Skyler Thompson was hurt when K-State vs OU happened. He played, but not like he's capable of.

Quick, name one KSU WR.

I had that exact thought when I was typing that earlier. Lol

I don’t think they are totally without weapons but we have more potential game breakers.

I just don’t think KSU is as inept as WV or Western Kentucky.
And I forgot Skyler was coming back from injury.
